Retooling my money site

So I've got a website where I review products and direct towards affiliates but I also have a blog attached where I write about interesting subject matter associated with the topic. I did this because I figured it was good content and Google would treat me well if I was constantly updating the site. And they have. It is only a month old and I am getting better rankings than most new sites I think and I'm getting some decent traffic.

Well I have decided that a daily updated blog just is not worth the time I invest and it does not really fit the site because most of the search engine traffic is directed straight to the review pages which is good. So I thought I'd ditch the blog part and just have an article section where I store articles and write new ones whenever I have very good content instead of forcing something each day.

I am also looking to change wordpress themes and upgrade the overall design of the website and I figured I'd do these two things at once. I'm just wondering how much all these changes will effect my Google relationship. In order to fit the theme I may need to change some pages to posts maybe and stuff like that. I just hope I can do all this without falling off with Google. If they drop temporarily that would be ok but I don't want to risk messing something up with this whole process. It's my money site mostly because of potential. It's not earning much yet. A bit.

Has anyone done anything like this?
