How to import your old content into a new blog?

Hello,

I may need to revamp a blog for someone, and ideally move all the content, comments, tags etc to the new blog (possibly wordpress tbc.)

Does anyone know if this is possible and how?

    I think you might be able to copy the source code for the site and paste it into a blank word press. but i am not sure i have never tried to do it.

    download the database, not sure if you can do this with hosted wordpress
