Aweber list import and BAD column

Howdy,
I just imported a client's list of 1100 records into Aweber and it says they have been ADDED but then there is a BAD column with this message 'Import is being manually reviewed'. Does this mean the whole list is doomed or maybe just some that are considered BAD? How do they determine what is BAD in a list that size?

Thanks,
Radar

Once the review is done, there will be a number there to indicate how many imported records were bad. Right now, there is no number because your import is being manually reviewed.

All those emails will have to reconfirm they want to be on your list. Aweber doesn't just let you add random email addresses without having those people give Aweber the permission to send them email.

You know, I absolutely do not understand this. I'm probably going to open an account at aWeber, but I have an account with another service right now that also insists on double opt-in. I'm fine with double opt-in and in fact prefer it.

BUT, if that's how my current service does business -- and if aWeber knows it (and of course they do) -- I think aWeber ought to let you import those names without having to confirm the opt-in for the 3rd freakin' time.

        I would do it differently.

AWeber is not going to let you import them without a confirmation, right?

So why not confirm them on YOUR TERMS?

Set up a new opt-in form for your new list on AWeber. Put a new bonus or freebie or AR sequence behind it. And mail your list on your current service to say "I'm moving to AWeber. You'll need to opt in on my new list, where you will get XYZ. Here's the form. <link>"

Anyone who doesn't do it probably wasn't going to confirm anyway, BUT YOU STILL HAVE THE WHOLE LIST AND PERMISSION TO EMAIL THEM. So you can try again in a week or so.

Thanks everybody - I should have made this post BEFORE I imported the list. 510 our of 1115 were BAD according to Aweber. The bribe that CDarklock suggested was a great idea. But quite frankly, this client put every email should could get her hands on in the upload from up to a couple years back. It was likely a lot wouldn't even be valid - especially since she doesn't stay in touch with her list. Live and learn!

Yes, but all Aweber care about at the end of the day is covering their own backsides and keeping the deliverability rate they have worked so hard to maintain. Besides, these sorts of rules are in your best interest if you are a custom of Aweber. I'm a customer of Aweber and I want their delivery rate to be as high as possible.

It doesn't matter if people have confirmed to be on your list with another service provider. Aweber want to have their own records that those people have confirmed to be on your list. Aweber won't let you transfer email addresses between lists in their own service so they are not about to let you just import a list from another provider without asking for revalidation.

I like your bribed idea, CDarklock, nothing like an incentive - even if it's a bribe the they may not use!
