I am about to register an LLC for my business and was arguing over which name to use????

lol, I would agree with you and go with a .com domain.

What does Lungio mean though? Why that name? I know if you're going for a brandable name it doesn't really matter so much about the keywords. What is your business about though, is it selling domains?

First, you said this was a funny story and it's not. Second, you called your parents ignorant. Go stand in the corner for ten minutes.

They were literally arguing for like 30 minutes saying that domain names don't matter when they really do.

And my business will be an all encompassing internet marketing company .

    Developing/selling domain names.

FreshDomains.com is available. It is for sale. I remember when it was a live site and it was fairly popular. Might check it out price wise and see if it's affordable, if you like it (which I do).

I kind of like Fresh Domains but felt that limited me to domains but then I thought that is basically what I am doing developing brands on Domains and also acquiring and selling domains.

And I don't think that means available by the way LOL. Available means a $7.49 Godaddy Registration in my opinion!

When Sex.com was for sale I don't think I'd be saying "sex.com is available! it's only several million dollars!"

FreshDomains.com is for $2000 or something and I can't really spend that right now.

Lungio gives me a broad overhead so I can deal in anything. Then once I get earnings up perhaps I can establish FreshDomains as another brand.

mind sharing what freshdomains.com used to be?

There are several .net domains that I visit daily, like forums and such. I don't care about the name, I just know they have quality info and I need it. xD But sure, if your looking to get somewhere, you need the .com version of it. One of the episodes on Dragon's Den, someone owned a bunch of domains like {keyword}.ca etc and targeted Canadians but the Dragons didn't want to get involved since he didn't own the .com.

It isn't a funny story you know. Instead of saying that your parents are ignorant. Why didn't you explain to them what you are talking about. Their knowledge online must be lack and the need more information about it.

Good for you for caring. You are correct with a .com domain. This is cyber real estate and the saying in brick and mortar real estate is: 'location, location, location'.
    Go for it.

When I first learned the meaning of 'ignorant' as a youngster, I felt like showing off to my dad a little.

"Dad, it's ok that you're ignorant of how this engine works. I understand, I'll show you."

    Silence, for a short minute.

"Son, there are times when being ignorant of something doesn't really matter. Now, for instance. No skin off my nose that I may be ignorant of how this engine works. Doesn't affect me a bit. I'm not, but that's beside the point. On the other hand, your ignorance of a very important subject just cost you the use of the car for all next week."

    "Huh??? Whaddya mean?"

"Obviously, even after 16 years of teaching, you are woefully ignorant of when you should open your mouth and when you shouldn't."

Didn't know the chain on my bicycle could get so rusty in just a few months.

Are you going to advertise offline? If not, who cares what it is. You can rank high for a .co too...

I like Lungio.com though. It's not limited to just domains and sounds kinda hip/cool/watever. It could be anything.

Get Lungio LLC and use the .com for a portal site that tells about your company and leads to other sites.

I just want you to look at any major business and see if they are running their main business/corporate site on anything other than a .com. Sure there are brandables for like the .me extension and domain hacks like Kiss.me and SuckonTh.at. there are also .net, .org, .co's that can rank well in search engines and have good content but these are not main corporate/company sites.

I just feel like people would think the m was dropped by accident.

There are certain cases in which .co (and other extensions) definitely work but I don't think so in this case.
