    Membership site: A website which needs new and quality contenet every week?

    Authority site: a big website, content doesn't need to be so high quality, because the content is not paid an free?

    IMHO, authority sites are the way to go for long term income. This is coming from the perspective of a consumer, not a site owner.

    Just recently I've canceled many of my memberships in order to save money, but I've also recently purchased several products from folks that I follow and know to be reputable and knowledgeable.

    A lot of people are hurting financially right now and may be reluctant to sign up for a recurring charge, but may still be willing to spend money with you if you've built credibility with them.
