Salvaging a failed article marketing campaign..some ideas

Dear fellow warriors,

I am a 2 week old article marketing newbie and so far I haven't made any sales, that leads me to the point of this thread.

This morning while I was having breakfast, I was just scribbling some plans for article marketing and I suddenly came up with a few interesting ideas which I thought should be shared with fellow members here.

Since I'm not as sharp as most article marketers out there when it comes to identifying low-competing keywords, the possibility of running a not-so-successful article marketing campaign is always there. Instead of letting the articles and efforts go to waste, this is actually what I think I should do to "save a sale":

1) Compile articles into blog and flip

I've actually emailed Ezinearticle and checked with them. Basically, if the article is 100% original and either written or owned by you, it's perfectly ok to post them on a blog and then submit them to Ezinearticle. This is not in violation to their rule of submitting duplicating content.

Therefore, I was thinking, upon realizing that buying traffic is not coming in. I can actually compile those articles on a blog and list them up for auction. I'm also considering offering potential buyers a value add service by writing more articles upon purchase as a sweetener.

2) Compile articles into a PLR package

My rationale is this - it is more likely for a newbie marketer to be less successful in popular niches against the big time marketers out there dominating. But that does not mean that there can't be a way around it.

Upon realizing my article marketing not being as successful as I like to, I can cash out fast and get paid a little for my effort but compiling the articles I've written in that popular niche and sell as a PLR package.

Since there are so many marketers promoting products in the popular niches, PLR packages that are of decent quality and 100% originality will always be sought after. So I should be able to sell a few packages to make sure I don't come back empty handed.

3) Use the articles as "rewriting sources" as a ghostwriter

This is slightly indirect, but another way I can do this is build myself a collection of articles that I can use to rewrite when I offer my service as a ghostwriter to the other marketers in the same niches as me.

I've actually just tried this and timed myself and I can average a new article every 17 mins, so that is quite healthy. And because I wrote the articles myself, I'm not copying or compromising on quality.

These are just thoughts and I hope experienced marketers here can point out if there's anything ethically wrong (I really can't think of any) , so I can stop before I offend anyone or be recognized as a spammer. I'd be glad to be on the receiving end of some constructive criticisms as well.

However, if you think these are some useful ideas which you can develop further, then please let me know as well! I'd love to know that I've started this Christmas by providing something valuable

Happy holidays all!

As to the second point , to make the most success with your efforts , it is advisable to be unique as there are so many people offering PLR packages at a very low price .

    I hope it helps

      Hi Shishay,

Point noted, thank you very much. I have not really explored PLR packages all around but I'm sure there are some article rewriters out there who offer such packages with the help of using some content generation softwares to compete on price alone.

Of course that's OK, because it's your article. It's also OK to submit it to 100 other directories if you want.

I don't know of any EZA rule about duplicate content- they are concerned about plagiarized or PLR articles, not articles that were legitimately published elsewhere.

      Hi Chris,

I've heard many times that the article you used on EZA can't be used for mass submission. A rewrite is needed actually. Here's what I usually do:

      1) Submit original article to EZA
      2) Submit a rewrite to Articles Base and Go Articles
      3) Rewrite again and mass submit

It's still too early to judge the results, but I thought this way is pretty appropriate.

Let me know your thoughts on this!

Happy Holidays to you as well,

I'm not sure how long you've been trying out article marketing, or exactly what you did that led to your supposed failure.

From your post, what I can see, is that you've shifted from article marketing to writing and selling articles... These are two different things, but still related.

So if you're now planning to write and sell PLR articles, keep in mind that people are looking for high quality, keyword rich articles, so you may want to study a bit more about including keywords into your article, this will add value to your offer.

Based on your statement as pasted below, it's an area you may need some work.

Article marketing is more than finding low-competing keywords, so overall, I'd say you spend sometime studying article marketing strategies so that you can identify what works or not, and this will also put you in a better position to market your article writing service, as well as help you become a better marketer for your own business.

Search Google, and you'll find a lot of free information to guide you.

    Cheers

      Hey Edward,

Thanks for the reply and all the advices. Actually I think I phrased it incorrectly when I used the term "failed article marketing campaign". What I meant was an article marketing campaign that did not deliver the expected sales results, and my 3 options are basically exit strategies that still guarantee some form of profits.

On further thoughts, I actually think the blog flip idea (option 1) is the most ideal because it involves the least amount of work, but it does involve a small fee to set up domain and blogging.

What do you think? Would love your opinion on this.
