I find that the HARDEST thing to for me to do is to stay consistent in actually doing something and getting frustrated and stopping. I feel like if I knew more about what I was doing then I could be more consistent I've read that statistically for newbs like myself, finding a niche is usually the number one killer and guess where I'm stuck at.. does anyone have any advice on how you stay motivated? Would someone explain how to find a niche just break it down in idiot terms for me or something lol but seriously I just want to get started and dive into it. I KNOW this will take work, not afraid of that at all very willing to do what is needed. If someone can just explain this or maybe some 1 on 1 coaching..I'm open to all suggestions thanks for listening.

Then do something you know about. What things in life do you enjoy doing and or reading about? How do you want to make your profit? Do you see yourself selling a product, beining an affiliate, using a program like google adsense, or another way?

Everything is a niche. Baseball is a niche. Pencil erasers are a niche. Imitation Chanel purses are a niche.

Just try to choose one that you're interested in, and one in which a lot of people are spending a lot of money, if possible.

I don't fully agree with this. You need to qualify that statement. You need to find something you are interested in that LOTS of others are also interested in and actually paying money for that interests products. This was my biggest IM mistake the first year doing it (not having a profitable market to go into). You can quickly test this using PPC campaigns...very cheaply in fact. Then when u find the profitable niche, OWN IT! Put everything you can into it (within reason of course).

I like your desire, PM me or email me anytime you need help.

Furthermore, it works. It took me 1 year for me to start having $100 to $300 days. I quit my job when I started making lots of fat stacks, and am now increasing my online assets dramatically. I hope to be having $1000 days in the near future.

So stay motivated. Furthermore, be a doer, learn on the run - don't get bogged down in learning. Avoid the curse of perfection, remember the phrase "versions", you can always make it better later.

Now here is the key to success online: Monetize online content and drive traffic to it. Thats what everyone who makes money online does, its a simple concept, and make sure it remains that way in your head, otherwise you will get overwhelmed.

I would pick any niche - within reason, look at Amazon and what they are selling the most of, and just get 100 pages of good content up with affiliate links embedded ASAP. Adsense is a long-road and can be hard to get ROI.

    Goodluck

Thats the reply OP needed, thanks Michael.

And its important to stay motivated because there are times when it gets really tough to keep working for your online success. What I do is focus on finding powerful motivation factors, the factors that can keep me working hard for success. It can be anything but should be powerful enough to keep you going. What can $100 online a day do for you? It can help you quit your day job, it can get you a good holiday package, may be you can buy something. There are many things which you can do if your goal is $100 a day but which is the most powerful motivation factor for you.

Hope you got the idea, wish you all the best.

      Cheers

Thanks for the reply, you broke it down to where it sounds so simple and seems less intimidating, i should just dive right into it without worrying about it being perfect and just learn as I go on and do. By the way I'm following Ed Dales challenge and I believe he is leading us to set up a Micro Niche blog..I kinda skipped ahead to see what the end result of what Im stuck at now would be lol but anyways thanks a lot man you cleared things up for me a bit.

I used to be same like you dude. So I took one day locked myself in the room (only have notepad & pen) and start to write down 101 things in my mind. From there on I have to decided what the main 1 should I focus for the next 90 days. After decided, start to plan and set a deadline to focus on. The main distracted form is our EMAIL. Everyday, we bombarded my all the guru promotions. Is time to shut it down for the next 90 days until I finished my main goals. Of course there are so many ways you can do. I find myself fully focus and get things done. Hope this would help.

It has been my experience that more often is not so much finding a niche as it is choosing one.

Niches are everywhere and so are ways to evaluate whether they are good bets for making money or not. By the time you have sorted through three or four competing ways of evaluating niches (most of which seemed to be designed to sell you a niche picker program) your time for working is used up and all that has happened is that now it is even harder to choose somewhere to get started.

Some of the best places to get started are the big ones: weight loss, quitting niches like alcohol or smoking, making money. Lots of people in all those markets willing to pay for multiple solutions.

Not meaning anything bad about that, those are simply three markets where folks are willing to pay for solutions. If you have a product that works or a site that is friendly, people will give you their money in exchange for a solution.

Right now, for instance, weight loss and physical fitness in the baby boomer market is a growing trend. Lots of people who started their lives as rebels are realizing that their lives and bodies are changing.

Same group in make money. Thousands and millions of people whose retirements were wiped out and are at the end of their working careers are looking for ways to make enough money to live. For many people, it is not even about maintaining their lifestyles, but they need to find something today to help them.

When you have good solutions to problems like that, you stand to make a decent profit. That is a pretty good business model overall, provide excellent products to people who need them and are willing to pay.

Man that was so insightful thank you! So clear and to the point pick a problem and solve it. Usually I have heard it said that a newcomer should stay away from the markets that you mentioned???

          You are very welcome, friend.

One of the things with the big markets is that they are almost always segmented. I have never seen one that is not segmented but I guess there could be something.

Sometimes you can target segments geographically, or by age groups, or by affiliation.

Right now seniors - baby boomers - is an easy bet because there are so many people in that category. Jane Fonda's 72 years old (or so) and has a new physical fitness program she is hawking for seniors.

In another thread we were discussing somebody's positioning of jam recipes ebooks on Ebay as survivalist information.

Part of market segmentation is understanding the motivation the group has. We're talking about statistical trendencies here, not that everybody in a group is the same).

Many baby boomers now find themselves in the jobs that used to go to high school and college age kids not because they need something to do in their dotage, but because they need the income.

In some senior retirement communities, the rate of STD's is soaring much faster than the rate in the overall population. The folks who are there now were members of the SDR&R generation and now they are seniors, but they didn't stop being rebels inside.

Biggest perk in some senior comunities is unlimited broadband.

If you are looking for needs and find a genuine need that you can fill, you can build yourself an empire.

You don't need advice to get motivated. It's all inside of you. I don't mean to sound like a self-help book but it's true. Just break it down to the basics. This is what you want. You want your forum or your website to get known. You know that one of the ways to do this is to build backlinks. So build backlinks, because it's what you want. If you want to run longer distances, you have to run. That's the only way. If you want to be stronger, you have to strength train.

    Hi:

    Shireen here :-)

This is how I stay motivated: finish a series of small task before enjoying myself.

Example: on monday I'll list 5 items on ebay, 5 posting on warrior forum, update my blog, spend 1 hour in product creation, spend 1 hour improving my IM skill.

After I've finished that I'll do something I like, ie: watch a movie, go out with friends....

    Hope it helps :-)

Exactly what I did when I started but not now.

Picking a niche is the most important thing you can do.

    It's not traffic

I would start by picking the product first and would go with a free trail offer that gets a good commission.

    Then do keyword research

around the product name when your targeting so that you'll make more conversions with a small amount of traffic.

Also make sure you get a large commission I would not promote something that gets small commission as your promo tasks for the site will be the same every time.

If you need help with this I can show you some stuff via one on one on your computer using crossloop.

just pm me if you want.

Just think of niches as what they are -- "sub-markets"

    Here is an example...

    Grilling
    Sub: Charcoal Grilling
    Sub: Wood Smoke Grilling
    Sub: Gas Grilling
    Sub: Grilling Accessories

Some people swear by charcoal grilling and never grill with smoked woods. On the other hand, virtually every griller uses grilling accessories. Hence, some sub-markets can be well defined, while other tend to overlap.

Target one sub-market aspect of a major market and expand outward according to your ambitions.

I find that the HARDEST thing to for me to do is to stay consistent in actually doing something and getting frustrated and stopping. I find that the HARDEST thing to for me to do is to stay consistent in actually doing something and getting frustrated and stopping.
Have you created a plan? Do you even know what you will be doing from one day to the next?

If you don't know what you're doing, you will need to study what truly successful online marketers are doing. Not what so-called "gurus" are doing. I'm talking about successful marketers who own and operate million dollar "gardening sites", "hobby sites", anything that does not involve Internet marketing and making money online.

Nothing wrong with the latter two industries but they are not for beginners.

Would someone explain how to find a niche just break it down in idiot terms for me or something lol but seriously I just want to get started and dive into it. I KNOW this will take work, not afraid of that at all very willing to do what is needed. Did you read this part before hit the "Post" button? There are tons of resources online and offline that can help you find markets and niches. You're not doing the hard work you claim you are willing to do. If you were, you would know that finding a "niche" (I hate that word) is one of the simplest tasks.

Developing a unique selling proposition or a unique offer is where things get a little complicated. Ever wonder how one can become deluged in a sea of "make money online" information and yet - never make a dime? Or why it's not as easy as every sales letter you have ever read claims it is? Most of these products have you chasing someone else's dream, not your own.

Maybe I'm being a little hard on you. I know what you are going through. Been there - done that. And more than once in my 25 years online.

Here are some tips that may help get you pointed in the right direction.

    1. FOCUS (Really! If you buy five make money products in a year, you are not focusing.(

    2. Internet marketing is not a business. A website or blog is not a business. They are marketing vehicles that help gain exposure for your business.

    3. Start a business. Yes, one with a real "business license" whooo! Bet not many gurus ever suggested that to you. Did you know you can deduct all your marketing expenses (cost of website/blog, advertising, make money product costs and get ranked really fast product costs). Oh and you can also deduct a percentage of your rent or mortgage and household utility expenses also.

    4. Free your psyche of the one-week wealth dream. Sure it's possible but it's not probable. Of course you couldn't tell based on the thousands of sales letters that attest to the exact opposite. Which leads me to one question "How's that working for you?"

Look, I have probably been losing a ton of money for the past 10 years. Why? Because I refuse to use sales material that promote this crap. My sales (information) letters generally scare "fortune seekers" away.

    5. Here is my Iron-Clad Guarantee I give all my affiliates (I'm too modest to say students)... "Do nothing and generally nothing will happen."

Whatever you do, don't give up! Adjust your game plan. Do the research. Start a real business. If you can't afford to start a business right now - keep studying "good" online marketing principles and strategies until you can.

    Best of luck to you!
