Is there a way to get noticed if a specific Topic is discussed in forums?

Ok my question is in the thread title:

Is there a way to get noticed (per email or something) if a specific topic is discussed or a specific thread was started in a forum?

If i check the newest results in google for a specific keyword the threads are 3 or 4 days old and thats too late for me

I thought about RSS Feeds but i don't know if every forum supports them....

You can use the "Thread Tools" to get notifications.

  I don't know of anything you can do to get alerts on certain subjects and the thread subscribe button is only for threads that have already been started.
  
  I think what you are wanting is something like I use on Google Alerts where anytime new information is posted on a subject I am notified by email. I don't think this forum has that, however they do have a search option whereby you could search each day for threads on your subject.

You can definitely use Google Alerts for this. Just use a rule like:
keyword site:forumurl.com

Works wonders

Edit: That is, of course, if the forum is constantly crawled by Google. Judging from your OP it might not be though...
