Question on Amazon Stats

I couldn't see this elsewhere and tried searching for it, but just wanted to know if sales on Amazon are calculated in real-time? (I know that clicks are updated up until the previous day, but I wasn't sure if the same was for sales/ordered items data).

No not in real time, the stats are updated every 24 hours.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

I wonder what's keeping them from at least updating a few times per day. I mean sure they're running huge volume, but you'd think they'd have the computing power to do it at their disposal. Most affiliate networks these days offer real-time stats, and I'm sure Amazon could do it if they wanted to. Then again, their whole affiliate platform is kind of basic and feels really outdated and I guess they just don't care.

I love the fact that they only update once per day. This keeps me from refreshing my sales stats page 20 times a day to check for sales and instead I can get some work done.

      Cheers

But lets not kid ourselves....checking stats is a lot more fun that doing work, if I had a choice in the matter, I would still choose for real time amazon stats:p

Haha. Checking stats IS fun, but sometimes I can find myself getting lost in it. Definitely had to put a cap on it once I really started getting involved in IM.

But yeah - you'd think Amazon would have real-time stats with how much power they hold in the marketplace of physical products online. Maybe we'll see it in the future, maybe we won't? Either way, I'm still going to promote products via Amazon, unless a tax law hits Iowa - then it's time to register a biz in another state!

Yeah no stats are real time except maybe traffic logs. It's the same with PPC engines. People make decisions based on data that isn't updated yet. Going by yesterdays numbers is always best for the most accurate stats. I to like how Amazon doesn't force me to check stats every 5 minutes. Saves me going crazy.
