Suggestions for a new IM podcast?

I'm putting together a podcast for the IM community. Of course it's been done before, but our take is going to bring a take that makes it fast paced and entertaining, something that doesn't feel like work to listen to.

Is this something you as an internet marketer that appeals to you? Would you listen? What kind of guests should we have? I'm not a guru by any means, but I have a broadcasting background and will conduct the discussion rather than be the sole provider of information.

I recorded a quick demo by myself to give you the idea of the tone of the show. During the shows themselves I will be joined by Katie, my fantastic co-host and a variety of guests (We already have a pretty good lineup). you can listen to it here:

If you would be kind enough to let us know what you think or what you would like to hear, or if you have ideas on how it could be promoted, I would very much appreciate it.

  • I think the key is to make a non guru show, there are to many guru podcasts and a anti guru one might be a good idea.

That's where I'm coming from. While we are both knowledgeable in internet marketing, we're not trying to be gurus. The only thing we claim to know about is being able to put together a good broadcast.

I'm encouraged by this, thanks a lot!

Hey, I just checked out your 1 minute summation. I am currently developing a similar podcast. See the link in my signature for Passive Income Design. On it I take a relaxed approach to internet marketing. Let me know how I could get involved with your project if you are interested.

Great! I checked out your podcast and it's really well put together and informative, and a different enough format from what we're doing that I think our shows could compliment each other. Maybe we could have you on to talk a little bit and make some great content for both of our shows.

What methods have you used to find a following, how about audience interaction?

Talk about the new trends in IM. Tell us who's doing it and how we can do it.

I would highly recommend investing in a pop filter for your mic.(if it's a headset mic, maybe consider another one). Way too many plosives going on in that recording. Get rid of any distractions that will take the listener away from your message. Your voice and tempo/feel sounded fine to me. Just those darn pops!

That's a good call, thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure they're not there in the final product.
