Banner space selling for small website?

Hi, I recently received an e-mail from some random person asking me if I wanted to sell banner space.

I initially thought it was spam, mainly because I just started the site a few months ago and still has very little traffic, but wanted to make sure. Maybe it's an advertiser who sees an opportunity for a low cost ad in a growing website?

I'd like to know how do I respond to the e-mail, what prices do I ask, and also how does it work putting a paid banner. Is it like AdSense, just code? (still a noob: )

Your help is much appreciated!

-Danteh

PS: the website is bestnintendo3dsgames.com if you want to know.

A lot of the advertising costs are done on a per click basis, if you get luckly and have an advertiser willing to pay per cpm the prices range from .50 per cpm $10.00 per cpm, depending on your niche

So how will he know how many clicks his add is getting? I should probably ask for 0.10$ right? (I'm really quite lost here lol, but everybody has to learn I guess at some point )

Does he give me a code or something to put at the banner?

He can track his Ad, but more importantly why don't you try and let him square a price out for you, as it sounds like you expect pennies, so ask him to present a number and it will likely be better than what you currently have in mind.

Good answer. You could also negotiate a flat monthly payment for advertising space, if you want to simplify things.
