Are "Who is" backlinks hurting my rankings?

I got a backlink tool which will make a few backlinks on "Who Is" sites and similar on autopilot.

While I know about the low value of those links to actually HELP my rankings I wonder if those will not HURT the ranking.

Would you use such a tool for your money site, only a inner page or "no way, only satellites like a Hubpage or Squidoo etc."?

If those won't hurt, the only benefit I can see in such a tool is fast indexing. Or is it totally useless?

    My experience has been...it depends on the age of your website...if it is brand spanking new, Google will "pimp" slap it for attempting to manipulate the search results. If it is older than a year and established, they won't care or reward for it...FWIW...
