For the longest time I've had a great idea. However I've not been able to put it into practice due to needing a partner. I'm not sure where one would find a dedicated, hard-working marketing partner. I looked in the JV section but after seeing what's there...

There are some things like web programming that I can't handle myself, hence the need for a partner. Where would you personally look for one?

You don't need a partner. I think you can do this yourself. Nowadays you can outsource all your programming needs. You just have to pay less money but in the end it's worth it. The worst part is not starting your idea just because you need a partner. You can look for programmers in warrior forum for free and if you want to pay a little money you can outsource it to places like odesk.com, and free lancers out there. Just my 2 cents.

In order to get a partner, you have to bring something valuable and equal to the table. If someone is going to be providing you with programming, what will you be providing that is of equal value? How viable is your "idea." How much research has been done in the potential for profitability? No one wants to waste their time, so work up a business plan outlining what you bring to the table and why your idea is a good one and use the JV forum or other JV programs to present it.

The JV section is the best place here to find a partner.

This is a big, continuous project. I need a partner, trust me. Where could I go about finding one besides the JV section?

        I agree with Suzanne entirely.

You need to have something you can offer the JV partner, hence the expression, "joint" venture. Your partners already sold on you, you know what you want, your potential partner will need convincing he/she's looking at something worth doing.

Seeing as you've discounted this forum as a good place to look, despite myself knowing several people more than capable of doing things like web programming, I suggest looking outside this for at more specific forums. If you want programmers, look up programming forums. Be proactive. Look for people in your local area even. That way you could actually meet them in person.

Can you give us more information on what you need apart from just web programming?

        Hey Krull,

I think you need to split down what you need help with and what you will bring to the table and what you need i.e. you have the idea, concept and business model and need help on SEO, Marketing, web design, programming.

There are some great people and resources on here and as a few have already said, if you don't bring enough to the table most will not give you any consideration.

So... maybe a compromise is best, outsource part i.e. programming and ask for some JV partners in the areas needed, SEO, Marketing (get this before creating your site to get wording, layout help).

I will be willing to help out with SEO, if needed, although relatively new to this have been researching and learning for a few months and putting what I have learnt into practice with some great results.

        Good Luck!!

I agree with Krull - parthnership is a lot more than programming and cannot be outsourced. It the genuine interest in the project. Try to publish an ad in JV section, maybe you'll get PM from a seasoned programmer.

Keyword & niche research, SEO & web stuff, and you've got to be hardcore. I've got more than enough to bring to the other side of the table. The problem is finding a match.

      Thanks Krull,

So what you need is basically widely available here.

That sort of stuff isn't a huge deal. May I suggest you perhaps look harder here because it's here in abundance. If I needed that and my offer was as good as you say it was, I'd have a real problem deciding who to approach, just from the people on my "friends" list here.

This forum is a great place to meet people, make friends with people and potentially have business deals with people. I suspect more JV's and successful ones at that, are done this way, rather than through the JV section of the forum.

When ever I had a great idea that I really wanted to do I always somehow found away of doing it. What I would suggest is doing a post that says: Hey Warriors i've got this cool idea who wants to partner with me? I bring these skills and you bring that.

Yes but the problem with that is you can't do it in this part of the forum, you have to do it in the JV section and Krull has said that's not what he/she wants to do.

The thing is, I see basically nothing but adswaps of email lists there and I'm not too sure many of them are quality, honestly. But yeah it's gotta be someone 100% dedicated and reliable. Maybe I'll try just in case.

Still think you have the wrong approach. Maybe this:
    1) What is your Idea?
    2) What action do I need to implement it?
    3) Test the hell of it to get it right.

You have an idea - good. Why do you need a partner at this stage? If its web / programming skills you need then there are outsourcers. It takes some time to go from the idea stage in IM to having it up and running. Well unless you have a direct line to Frank K...
