Is it Sensible to Target High Competition niche(iPhone, IPad etc)?

Well I have a tech blog and I was thinking of targetting US traffic so thought to write on iPhone, iPad and other apple products as its high paying and many from US search for it.

Since there are millions of blogs dedicated to this ..do you think it will be sensible from my side to target this?

How are you going to Monetize? The affiliate commission on such products is low, generally hardware commission like laptops, etc is @ or below 5% of sale price.

In addition, its a very competitive market. If its your first crack at Internet Marketing I would strongly suggest a easier niche.

    Goodluck,

Will be monetizing through Adsense as its a high paying CPC niche..so around 20 clicks daily would be suffice for me

Yeah i am new in internet marketing although I know the basics

I don't mean to p*** on your parade but if you're new to this, how do you plan to compete against the likes of others flogging Iphones, Ipads etc? Including Apple etc?

It's all well and good saying you only need 20 clicks a day but how will you get those 20 clicks?

Respectfully, if you're new, a slightly less competitive niche would be easier for you.

If you are established in that niche as a tech blogger it perhaps would make sense. I haven't done Adsense for quite a few years, but there are many powerful and effective marketing methods for driving traffic to your blog to beat the competition. Besides just the CPC returns, consider also some of the many affiliate programs for these products and even a much broader market for accessories and supplies.

          Hello Paul,

I know my advice may be contradictory to yours but I was just basing it on his statement below.

I just thought maybe trying to target what he wants to target might be a little tough, having said that, I'd say you know more than me and perhaps I'm underestimating the OP's ability

    Go for it!

A huge market means huge opportunities. Big markets are competitive because there is lots of money to be made. It is generally much more profitable to get a tiny slice of a big pie than a big piece a small pie.
