What are the fiverr's doing when they promise X number of facebook likes?

Are these "real" likes they are delivering or just liked from dummy accounts. How are they getting so many likes to a random page and is it worth $5?

You have to check their reviews to make sure that they are credible. I had purchased a gig that said I was going to receive 500 likes to my account.

But when he delivered the work he sent me a picture of the post and blurred the name of the profile!

Some of them are genuine, and those who are have multiple Facebook accounts with different names. What they do is post your link to all of their profiles.

I would suggest a long term strategy like this though, if you just wanna get the ball rolling on a new profile then yea its cool.

I don't really do FB marketing, but I was offered a free review of one such service, so I took it. I got several hundred "likes," and the profiles appeared to be legit. However, I got an angry message on my page, saying, "Hey, never liked this $#@ page!!" And then I noticed that many of these likes disappeared, so it seems that the people offering this service had a way to get FB members to like the page without them knowing.

I wouldn't use a service like that again, as it could possibly get your FB account banned, plus it's just plain unethical to hijack people's accounts that way. I can't say that everyone who offers FB services does this, but when I think about it, how else could they get such a large number of likes in a short time?

People who use such unethical practices should get banned. Forcing FB likes just seems wrong to me, although from reading this thread sounds like several people seem to think it's okay. Sounds very black hat and hopefully FB will put a stop to it!

Some use twiends.com which is a site you can get facebook fans from.

I am in process of buildin a kick A$# fan page that forces the like. It will be done tomorrow and I will be buying a few of these gigs. What's to lose?
      your account, possibly.

I wouldn't mess with the fiverr gigs! They could get your Facebook account banned and you would have no recourse. Personally, I pay a couple hundred bucks for targeted likes at howtobuyfacebookfans.com. It seems expensive, but the users that like me are REALLY responsive! Lot's of activity and some sales too!

Most of these people use services like Twiends to
deliver Facebook likes and Twitter followers.

While these are "real" accounts, but do not provide
any benefit other than increasing the numbers.

Whats to lose is your credibility for your fan page.

Don't fall for it if its a serious good product and well built fan page then your normal marketing tactics will get you all the "REAL" fans you need and not a bunch of garbage likes that might end up spamming on the wall of your fan page.

I tried it once and the offer was either 100 or 500 likes or friends and I got 6 in total. I know it was just 5 bucks but I felt robbed. Wont do that again.

I ain't sure about what they are doing but I think I have found at least 1 legit way of doing things to get more followers and fans. Don't want to look like I am promoting but the last link in the s-i-g is what it is. Its worked well for that all so crucial time - getting those first few hundred likes or followers after that it gets easier for them to grow virally and above a few thousand then your pages are viral with you just adding quality content, I am not B-Sing when I say it really does help me get over 50 likes or followers a day for free with just about two hours of work, but you have got to have a good twitter profile (regularly updated, good following to followers ratio) & a decent facebook profile (non spammy or fake), It works with seeds and the scratch my back and I will scratch yours approach, I have a code to get you 50 more seeds also so PM me if needed, hope this helps.

I've used fiverr a few times, but to FB, the best way is to keep legitimate decent content on there every couple of days. You want your audience to be well targeted and the clicks/views/likes etc. you get from fiverr aren't likely to help my, that's been my experience.
