    It doesn't matter.

Web 2.0 sites and blogs on other people's blogging sites aren't sites you own yourself anyway ... and it would be risky and perhaps ill-advised to put much effort into reaching the top of the SERP's with a site you don't yourself own and control ... many people have "come a cropper" that way ... :p

It's better to own and control your own business.

I completely understand that, i just discovered a niche that is very profitable. After doing my analysis, i discovered the sites at the top 10 are well established thou its not competitve. Just want to start making money with maybe a hubpage now and get my site and domain up and running in the next two months.

Already trying to secure a domain.

At this point, it might be best to try a different platform instead of hubpages, if you really are determined to use a 3rd party site.

Hubpages seems to be on the road to kicking out many of the more commercial hubs.

You've asked 2 different questions in your thread title and in your post. They have different answers.

"Which Is Easier to Begin With a Personal Site, Web 2.0 Sites, Blog?"

A web 2.0 site like Squidoo is easiest to start with.

"Which is the best way of dominating the top of the search engine. Is it blog, web 2.0 sites like hubpages, squidoo, personal site."

An authority site (gives you multiple pages in teh SERPs) plus multiple blogs and web 2.0 sites.

Using web 2.0 sites is a little bit easier. But on the other hand: it takes only a few hours to learn how to build your own site with wordpress.

Now, investing a few hours more and then building your own property instead of expanding other people's property is certainly worth the time.

You don't need much to build your own site:
      - a cpanel hosting, which usually allows you to install wordpress with 1 click.
      - a wordpress theme, you can easily start out with a free one, and upgrade to a professional one later when you make money.
      - watching a few wordpress how to videos that can be found free all over the web

Never, never, never build your business based on other people's web sites. It's certainly possible, but in the long run it's also certainly stupid.

Web 2.0 sites should be used to support your own site, they should not be a replacement for having an own site.

I would suggest you to create your own blog. You can use web2.0 sites for backlinks to your blog. To use wordpress for your blog is very easy. You will find plenty of free videos for that.

Wordpress is a no brainer to get set up and get started. Your own host, your own domain, a Wordpress blog. Why risk your business on someone else's platform and risk being deleted on a whim?

I get that you want the quick money, but is it really that much easier to get your page ranking if you use a web 2.0 site, compared to your own?

You still need backlinks, time, effort etc, and quite honestly, if you research and find yourself great, low competition, buying keywords, you can rank your own site nearly as quick, then you have all the benefits that the great warriors have already mentioned, and none of the drawbacks... like having your site deleted!

Blog post for sure if you are new..

Rankings in search engines are determined by relevancy and freshness..

You will have lots of relevancy because you will have lots of words in your blog post, and your content will always be fresh because the site is updated every time you make a post..

Also Blogs ARE web 2.0 if you have an intuitive easy to use comment system for people to leave feedback, this can also help generate leads because you can engage with these commenters and since they responded to your blog post then they clearly are already qualified as having interest in the topic

Yes, i understand the importance of having my own personal site,

the issue is, number one i am experimenting.

number 2, i am trying to make quick money. A well established site can get me on the top of the serp in no time.

Blogs do better with the search engines. But it doesn't matter if you have a free blog or a paid hosting site.

It's how you SEO your site that's important. Before you do anything watch a few videos on SEO. Trust me, it'll be worth your time. Watch a lot of them as you'll learn new tricks from different people.

There's nothing better than seeing yourself on Google's first page!

I personally feel like a blog is easier to update than a regualr html site. I have not tried web 2.0 yet so inputs there. With a blog you'll stand a good chance sith seo as plugins make it a lot easier to manage.

Personally, i like blog. It is the easiest way to gain traffic, easy to manage. Later on, if you think your blog is getting massive traffic.... then you can start hubpages, squidoo, etc.

Personally for testing purposes and some quick income I use Weebly.com
You can set up a landing page on the front end and and a blog on the back. You can monetize it anyway you want.

I say go with a blog. A blog can encompass a lot of things and search engines love them. You can do everything you can do with any other website with the advantage of a more personal and content driven feel rather than being a sales pitch.
