120,598 YouTube Video Views & Only Two Conversions To A Free iPad Offer!

I'm trying to increase my conversions to a youtube video that's getting 1,000 views a day
on youtube & vary little conversions for a free iPad zip submit offer.

I have the video watermarked through out the whole video.

"Win A Free iPad At http://www.winmobileipad.com"

But the video is not bringing hardly any visitors & or
conversions to the offer.

Someone suggested I put annotations in the video which I think
is a good idea.

I researched how many offers they have to complete to get a
free iPhone & iPad & it's six offers.

I was thinking of putting some of these annotations across the
whole length of the video.

Which one do you guys think would convert the best I'm open
to any new suggestions if anyone has better ones.

One problem may be that the people viewing the video simply are not interested in getting an ipad. What are the keywords associated with the video? All those views of the beach make me want to go on vacation. Maybe some travel offers would get better results.

  I have to agree with the travel offers/ads, just from the pic of the video you have here.
  
  As for the free IPad, or IPhone, those kinds of offers have been around for a good while now where people have to jump through a lot of hoops or sign up to other offers. I think a lot of people probably tried in the past and know what's involved. Add to that how people can pass on that info on the net so quickly and those offers stop converting.
  
  Quite a lot of years ago, I tried one survey site to earn little bits of cash. It quickly became apparent it wasn't worthwhile, despite the glowing reviews on the net. Word does get around. That doesn't necessarily mean that no one will sign up, maybe you just need to change your video to something more explicit about the offer. Then you might find more targeted customers.

You want to stay away from free ipad offer because lets face it , nobody is getting a free ipad .People know this stuff .Change the offer

I think the video's not matched to the type of viewers with it being a
iPad offer & like one poster said a travel offer would be better.

But I have one problem the video is watermarked & the only thing I
can do is remove it & replace it with one that's not.

I have been hesitant to do it but I believe I have no choice since
it's not getting any conversions anyway.

I also think the video watermark looks spammy & people are
leary & vary smart to these types of offers now.

Whats the best way to put annotations in these types of videos up on
top, down at the bottom.

the video is about funny stuff which is what the viewers are into.

the watermark is like "get an ipad" which the viewers are not into.

so you have two options:

either presell the ipad offer and say "watch funny videos on the ipad... lower conversion.

OR

send them to a video download or a toolbar... and say "get more funny videos of people falling on the beach here... download this tool.

you can get paid $1.25 + for giving away this download.

I didnt know YouTube did that either.

magicmarcus, I'll consider the video download or a toolbar.

I'm also considering a subway offer, a travel offer sense it's vacation time
here in the us.

To test which offer will convert I plan on using a url shortener like bite.ly
is this the best one to use or is there a better one.

Then when I find out which type of offers convert I'll register a domain.

youtube is saturated with videos like this! << thats one of the problems! the other big problem is that youtube traffic sucks for convertions. been there, got the tshirt.

Maybe good for driving traffic to a site (too boost alexa ranking) but not cpa offers straight off the page IMO.

I need to upload a new video & before I do I need to edit it a little
what's a simple program to edit a video without much trouble.

Also I'm going to test which offer is converting the best before
I register a new domain name which URL shorting is best to use
on youtube bite.ly

You could even try a diet offer, or a body builder offer, or a vitamin offer. I'm in the camp that feels the free IPad is not a draw anymore.

I agree with the posts above. The whole free ipad,. free laptop etc. thing has ran its course long ago.

  First off, if your giving away ipads, you can afford a better looking video. That watermark looks terrible. I would never go to that site for a free ipad.Its just not believable.

you need to put up an ad that's related to the video....plus that current water mark is not appealing to the eye.....I highly suggest you removing it and put the ad in a light bow or some form of pop up that will catch the view attention.....plus i think it would look better...

  #1: you have the views!
  
  it doesn't matter if the video is crappy or whatever... what matters is you have people sitting and watching it... so test many offers... try targeted offers... whatever you have to do... just make it convert. (of course with ethical offers) which is not hard to do.

What does beach scenes have to do with an Ipad? The whole purpose of advertising on youtube is to get clicks on offers related to the video--keyword driven. I agree with the other warriors, change your offer to something related to the video.

it's basically just the offer sucks, everyone knows by now that you can't actually get a free ipad without jumping through a million hoops. you're probably better off selling them with a coupon code or something.

One difficulty with video on YouTube and most other video sites is that once it's UP - it's Up and there is no changing it (sort of). Once a video is popular - you can't change the video itself - but you can change the title, description, etc.

Yes, you can add annotations, but so many people viewing YouTube videos today never see the annotations because they have that feature disabled on their viewing device (think Ipad).

A good lesson that I wish I had learned earlier, is not to use annotations, and instead use the time to put the call to action in the video itself by using a simple editor.

Says on my screen video was removed? It's important for conversions that your stuff is more relevant. I'm already using the amazon associates program to guide people to my website where all my gear in this video is listed:

Home Studio - YouTube

I've had 4 products bought so far, nothing amazing, a midi controller and 3 cds, pocket change, but all it took was a quick relevant article related to my gear, an annotation in the video, and an article on my website with the amazon affiliate links.

I'm not sure if I want to add something else, I get on average 22 clicks on the link a day, so I'm wondering if a CPA offer would be a good idea, but not sure which one would be relevant or where to get it.

Yeah, this is a pretty easy one. Why would anybody link some bullcrap "free" iPad offer to funny beach videos? How are those things associated? And I'm pretty sure those kinds of offers have crappy conversions anyway since almost nobody actually gets through all the absurd numbers of things you need to do to actually get the product (and will probably cost you more than the product is worth in the process).

I agree with everyone here. Maybe your problem is that your traffic isn't targeted in this case. Maybe the people who clicked on your video to watch it were only looking for something funny to watch. They're not looking to get a free ipad, Also, as everyone else has said, you have to go through so many loops to get those "free" ipads, ipods, iphones, laptops, etc. I would try something different. Maybe add something at the end of a video (video that's relavent to your offer) that will tell them to click on your website. Don't use annotations because they now have x's where you can click off of them. They were needed, I say, because people were abusing them, putting a plethora of them everywhere and anywhere in their videos. Very annoying. If you have a microphone, maybe record a "call to action" message and add it to the video. Also, make sure to do your keyword search and add relevant keywords to your video, that way the people you want seeing your video will find it.

By the way, you should be thankful that you had two conversions. That's way better than some videos in youtube that is getting millions of views and not getting anything aside from adsense share.

Now, go and tweak your strategy. You already experienced success though on an extremely small level. You can use that as motivation to improve what you're doing.
