Whats A Simple Wordpress Theme For Someone Starting Out!

I'm looking for a simple wordpress for a coupon blog I'm building.

I already know about couponpress & the others but for now
until money starts to come in I have to use a free them.

I need one that will be easy to work with clickable images
for the coupons with out much hassle

And be easy to work with the header & sidebar ads
which one is a decent them that has a support forum
to ask questions when I run into trouble.

Just use the default TwentyTen that comes with the package. You will have difficulties trying to show me one that is better coded than 2010

    - custom header image from admin panel - YES
    - widget ready (for anything to be placed in the sidebar) - YES
    - custom Menus - YES (very few themes has this one)

      Amen to that!!

TwentyTen is actually a great theme that is often overlooked. I think everyone dismisses it because the previous "Default" themes weren't quite as good.

I totally agree that twenty ten is excellent. It is very fast to load and never crashes.

But Always change the header graphic.
I use Xheader for this and there is a free version

I just take one of my own photos saved on the computer and upload it... then use the tools provided by the theme to crop it to the desired size. Works like a charm.

Like I said in the post Its going to be a coupon site whats some plugins
    that would help with this.

Would the nextgen gallery plugin help with the thumbnails for the coupons.

I also would like to have my ads appear in four boxes like a lot of themes
have with the hosting offers, would a widget be able to help me with this.

Except you can't get 2011 - yet. Hopefully, it will be in the next WP package/upgrade.

Why not bite the bullet right from the get-go and use a professional coupon-ready theme with the payment gateway and print functions already built in.

Appthemes.com has a great new coupon theme. You can preview it here:

    Demo Center | AppThemes

It has all the features you are looking for already installed. Appthemes has an excellent support forum to help you get up and running, plus the themes are very intuitive and easy to learn. I speak from experience having worked with their Classifieds theme. I'm not a programmer or designer - just a Wordpress hacker, and with the help of the support forum I was able to customize the theme without too much difficulty. Yes, there is a learning curve, but there is with customizing any theme to make it do what you want.

Bit I hear you about needing a free theme to start. I think the recommendations for 2010 and 2011 are excellent.

A nice free one you might want to try is: http://mazznoer.web.id/wordpress-the...white/#more-31

Mazznoer has some nice, simple themes that are easy to work with.

later I'll but the clipper theme I've been laid of from my job.

Istvan, I almost quit & started to use the twenty ten, but I did one
last search at wordpress them site & found one called Graphene.

It's been downloaded 10,045 times & is the second most downloaded theme
plus they have a support forum that gets your questions answered quickly.
