Classified Ad Website Memberships

INTERNET MARKETING

Is paying about $25 per month as a membership fee on a high traffic, classified ad website to cover advertising upgrades and banner impressions worth the cost?

I am a newbie trying to drive traffic to my affiliate site and my resources are scarce.

There are a few paid directories that are respected by search engines, at least at one time paying the $299 review fee for Yahoo directory inclusion was an automatic for major sites.
Directories as a whole don't get so much search love these days in part because it's too easy to get listings, you can get outsourcer to submit your site to a few hundred free directories for your $25.
I hear that social sites get a lot more attention from the search engines since there is more likely to be a real human endorsement involved.

Besides Yahoo directory and Dmoz, I don't feel (in my opinion) that any other paid directory really makes that much of a difference.

  hm...well when you say classified ad, and someone responds directory. these are two things.
  
  If it is a real classified ad such as craigslist, or usfreeads.com site, it is well worth paying, as those sites bring in the traffic, but yes if it is something such as directory then keep your money.

  Thank you. I wasn't looking at a directory--not sure what that is. I have a list that I am working--ablewise, adlandpro, adpost, backpage, classifiedads, classifiedsforfree, epage, inegiant, salesspider, usfreeads,webclassifieds.

  what you sent is the directory, but going with popular classified ads is a smart business decision. In the end, it is all about traffic Track the stats of your ads and you will know which source is worth it for you.
