Yesterday I read a post here about the decreasing Ebay sales and someone asked how Amazon was doing. Looks like they're thriving even in this economic downturn: SEATTLE (AP) -- Amazon.com Inc. said Friday that the 2008 holiday season was the online retailer's "best ever," with more than 6.3 million items ordered and 5.6 million units shipped during its peak day on Dec. 15. Yeah I was reading this. I know my family and I did most of our shopping on Amazon. It is just so much easier, don't have to fight the crowds etc... I would say 85% of our items came from Amazon, sometimes even if we did go to the store I would check Amazon on my Iphone and see that it was cheaper so we would come home and order it online. I got just about everything from Amazon too. (Couple of thousand easy) Free shipping? Can't get better than that! My husband also ordered all my Christmas from there. We shipped out of town relative presents from there. They got our money! LOL

That is actually really promising for internet marketing. It shows that internet-related business should continue to do well during an economic downturn and in some cases even better, as people seem to be abandoning retail stores during this period.

I think it has less to do with the economy, and more to do with the fact that I am constantly trying to increase my learning, improve my marketing, and relentlessly test new and different ideas. The end result is that my marketing always improves, regardless of economic cycles. This just goes to show that in IM, as long as you are willing to put in the work and devote time to thinking for new ideas, you will always prosper | |

Well, that's good news for everyone else. But since Amazon has operated on a loss for years, I suppose the money will go to paying off all the years of no profit they have had to put up with.

Good news for Amazon affiliates too. I averaged about 10% conversion on the clicks I sent to Amazon. Art |
