When Everything You Do Is Not Getting You Traffic...

I've created sites that are content rich, sufficiently SEO'd sites. I've bookmarked them, facebooked them, twittered, blogged almost daily, commented on other blogs and forums, submitted to dmoz (not in yet) posted articles on Ezine and 12 other sites, put videos on tons of video sites pointing to my sites, etc. etc. etc. In MSN and Yahoo, a couple of those sites rank on the first page, but one site (Public Speaking Training) has been sandboxed by Google. Aside from a few spikes of traffic, I can't seem to get any site to get more than 10-15 unique visitors per day on any of these sites.

Any suggestions to get much better traffic?

Thanks Warriors!

David
PS: other sites are seminaracademy.com and publicspeakingwizard.com

    Hi,

How many sites are you actually talking about...

Maybe you should take them one step at a time.

If you do too many sites at a time, you are basically taking
out time that could have all been put into one site...

Your results should differ after that.

Here's a tip, others may like this one too:

Go to Alexa and look at the most visited, try to get
your link up on the advertising/exposure sites.

    All the best,

you need to write more , i mean target more keywords ... as for the sandbox site dont worry continue to add more links and write more article the max i have seen on a sandbox site is six month ,eventually when the site is out of sandbox you might rank higher if you have been adding related backlinks all this while

Could possibly be your keywords. Have you researched your keywords thoroughly? Such as checking out the competition and searches per day/month etc?

It seems to me the problem might be in your keywords you're targetting. I had this problem myself and once i did better research I started making sales.

So I recommend you look into it.

Do what you do best.... speak in public!

Get yourself in front of a video camera and turn some of your content into videos then submit via Tubemogul.

I would create a squeeze page or a free membership site with the content you have to drive Opt-Ins which should be your most wanted action so you can sell your coaching & training program on the back end.

You are in a very competitive market with some real heavy hitters however, there is more than enough room to stake your claim in this niche by targeting long tail keywords (think local markets).

Add Wordpress to your static site and blog daily... there are many other things you can do but this will have a profound affect on the way G views your new site which was created Sep 19, 2008.

    Get more links too.

    Titles.

Very important considering you've gone the free traffic route. The titles of your pages should be phrases people are searching for day-in-day-out.

People put up 200 page AdSense sites and I smash their earning with only 4 well title pages.

OK, so now you have your web pages set up with correct titles we need to let Google know about them. This is were hyperlinking comes into play. Each time you link back to your page make sure you use anchor text relevant to the title. For example if you're linking to a page called fun-gifts then you'll use that text in the backlink.

    Obvious stuff right?

OK let's look at EzineArticles. in your resource box you want to link to your home page AND the page most relevant to the article, again using anchor text.

Not only should your resource box be used for backlinks but should also be a soap cliffhanger. Structure it so the person reading HAS to click to read more to find out some valuable info.

So now you have a link to your homepage.

A link to a Content page.

    And you've left a cliffhanger.

Do this 4 times a day and in a few months you could (if you wanted to) sit on your ass whilst these hooks bring you profits for ages.

Your job now is to evaluate whether the time spent will be worth it.

One last thing, the videos you made.. are they good? I mean if I was to watch one would I be forced to click through to your site?

Seriously, pull out everything you have when making videos. Put yourself in your viewers shoes and play their fears/sweet spot like a guitar.

Without seeing the sites and knowing exactly what you've done, my guess
      would be a simple problem.

You're targeting keywords that have either not enough daily searches or
too much competition from quality sites...quality being the key.

Have you researched the competition? Do you know what YOUR site has to
offer to beat them out in the SEs?

If you're not targeting long tail keywords, you could be fighting an uphill
battle. On the other hand, some long tail keywords just aren't going to
provide that much daily traffic regardless of the competition.

Check out the competition and do your keyword research to see where
each keyword stands in relation to daily searches and competition.

      You'll find your answer there.

just give it a bit of time. Allow it to happen naturally. Forcing it, sometimes slows the process.

You don't say how long your sites have been up and doing your submissions. It might be too soon to start worrying.

One area where many marketers fall short is in how they write their resource boxes. It's not enough to just plug what you do, ie: XXX is a public speaker who has .... accolades... blah blah.

Make it a call to action.

In your articles, supply just enough info to help but not enough that they have the entire picture. Then, send them to your site to get the rest. One example people often use is, tell them there are 10 tips to doing 'whatever', here are 5. Get the rest at.... URL.

Or say, "Get more valuable inside tips at ...." Use your best keyword as anchor text.

As has already been suggested, choose your keywords wisely. One mistake I've been making is to only use 2-3 keywords for anchor text. This is fine, and I do get some benefit through Google for those keywords, but my site can relate to so many more keywords.

One top marketer wrote recently that you should aim for 1000 keywords for your site. Then, go out and splash your name around using those keywords as anchor text. Over time, your site will attract visitors from many of those keywords and will result in more traffic - and sales.

Also, it's been said that you need hundreds if not thousands of articles out there to see massive results. So keep writing and submitting, and make maximum use of the available keywords for your offer.

    David,

How about trying the 'offline' world of advertising? I'm sure there are some magazines/publications in your field that wouldn't cost very much to place an ad.

Are there any radio stations you could get a spot on?

How about your local chamber of commerce... usually they have bulletin boards or places where you can leave flyers for other biz owners.

There are just as many 'offline' advertising avenues as the online ways.

My best success has come from doing a bit of both.
