Hey guys

In a couple of days I will have finished my first attempt at building a list by giving away a game on gaming site. It's probably going to work out to be an expensive list as its costing my £40 for just over 100 subs so far.

I have managed to get some subs via twitter but they have mostly come through Loquax which seems to be a place to promote UK competitions.

This has left me in a dilema and I obviously hadn't really thought things through. I don't know what to do with my list now. I will probably send out a monthly newsletter talking about highlights of that month and what our plans are for the following month. I may try to monetize this through CPA games.

What would you guys suggest?

I also don't know how to create an HTML newsletter in GetResponse. I don't like the templates they have so if anyone can offer some guidance I would appreciate it.

Also, does anyone know where else I can promote a gaming UK competition?

Off the top of my head here are some ideas for a gamers list:

    1. Contact game retailers, used games would be better and offer them to pitch their games to your list with a coupon. You get a commission the list gets a discount.

    2. Amazon sells games, produce a newsletter and describe, review, offer some tips, on some of the games etc, when they visit your page prompt them to buy through your amazon link and you get a commission.

    3. Remember gamers need accessories, offer discounts for headsets, speakers, peripherals, upgrades, etc.

    4. There are some guides and e-books that you can sell, they're avialable in CJ I think. Some warriors even sale them, so try a JV with them.

    Hope this helps,

At what point does a list become good leverage? for example you have mentioned contacting companies to try and get discount codes.

I would imagine if I said I have 100 people they probably wouldn't be interested. Am I wrong or should I just get out there and try?
