Cherry-picking and Start Making Money Online

Gee! How they come here?... you are asking.

Read and you'll see.

It happened on a warm June day, that a five and half years old boy felt bored alone. So, he went to the neighbors. There were kids in the same age groups, and he wanted to spend fun time with those kids.

They were in their dining room and ate cherries at that time. Since there were a few cherries in the bowl, they offered them to him. This boy felt like to eating cherries, so he joined to the group.

The cherries ran out soon. They wanted more. So, the group went out into the garden, and climbed the cherry tree. While cherry picking, they enjoyed themselves. This boy also picked off cherries enthusiastically.

How delicious this fruit can be! Are you able to imaginer: one cherry into a small pail, another one into mouth. Ahhh... the darker is finer. Look! There is a nice one on another branch. The boy climbed over and picked that. Mmmm... fine.

Ohh! He discovered another darker one on an other branch. He climbed over and picked it as well. Uhh! Look forth now... a delight also offerings itself. That one also may be fine over there... let's go for it.

Craaccckkkkk!!!!!

The branch, which he climbed on, broken, and the boy fell. He struck himself thorougly, and was hospitalized for four weeks. He learnt; look where you enter and know why. The rush isn't worth. Alternating constantly between brighter fruits and branches may be quite dangerous.

So far about the story.

But... why am I saying you this?

Because there is an exact similarity between that boy and a newcomer who want to start to make money online, IMO. As the boy wanted cherries, so the newbie wants to earn cash on the web. And that is possible, as we experienced.

So, the beginner starts with a money making online system purchased somewhere. Skimmed the downloaded material and he thinks, it's not what was expected. Seeing a new offer other day, he buys it in thinking that will be better and more fruitful than the former.

But... this isn't the real thing as well. He says: let's see the another one... that may be the best for me - as the boy thought about cherries.

As you can realize, he falls into the trap of newer and shiner options. And things will continue this way. For a while. When - one day - the crash occurs. The beginner losts his money, the initial enthusiasm, and his trust.

He will be disappointed and gives up. And, of course, complains everywhere.

You can see many similar cases. I got emails and questions related, nearly everyday. The answer is same, oftentimes. And I believe, the permanent rush for newer and most new things is the biggest trap newbies need to avoid.

Why?

You know, time is needed, until you can say about something that that fails. After your purchase, you...

- must to know what you bought,

- need to understand how the product works,

- need to implement properly what you learned,

- at stucking somewhere, re-learn that part,

- need to check back, what did you do and how.

And... if you still feel you lost, ask for help of the product creator/seller.

Important: do not buy anything which comes in your way. I only buy any product - being it even the most tempting - if I can use it in two weeks. Otherwise I don't care, if it also offered to me by sixtysix people.

Please, bear in mind, most of the product creators spend tremendous time, cash, and their best effort to make useful money making product. They test their product before sale. They earning cash with that products, so can you, too.

But, for reaching this, you need to invest. Into the product, methods, devices, your time, and last but not least - into yourself. And don't bounce between the fruits / products needlesly. Just taste one at a time. You'll know which one is best for you.

Today I picked off cherries in our garden. I remembered this story. You know, I was that boy and fell from the cherry tree more than six decades ago. And I fell the aforesaid trap when I started online as well. I learned what was needed.

And YOU?

Greetings,

Sandor

  • Maybe this will help. My first $47 info product. I did something it was a pain in the ass. I then thought I wonder if anyone will pay me for how I did it. I put a sales letter and sold thousands of them. It's as simple as that. I even didn't have the product when I sold the first one took me 4 days to make it (which is slow now looking back after many dozens of products later) but it's that simple. what I don't understand is why 99% can't make a product that makes money?

    Hi Sandor,

Great post. Should be required for everyone new here. I'm laughing! I guess great minds think alike. Less than an hour ago I put a new lesson up on one of my membership sites in which I alluded to exactly the same thing...

Internet Marketing Is Not A Spectator Sport!
It is not something you do from the sidelines. It's something
you need to get organized with, develop a plan, and then put
your head down and charge into it. And I'll tell you, you may get
knocked on your ass a time or two
    . Every successful marketer
has had that happen. But the difference between the successes
and failures is that the successes pick themselves up and try again.

I'm Pretty Good At What I Do, But...
If any one of you thinks that I've never failed at one project or
another you are dead wrong. I've had some doozies in my lifetime.
But I learned from every one of them and they are much fewer
    and farther between nowadays.

I'm not being critical of anyone, but when I see people buying half a dozen WSOs a week, week after week, month after month and they complain they've never made a dime online...

It isn't rocket science! Pick a technique. Study it with a voracious appetite for doing YOUR OWN research. Try it, tweak it, improve on in and become the very best at it (or at least good at it) and make bank with it.

There are a thousand ways to make money on line, but it only takes getting good at one of them to succeed wildly. So yes, Sandor, you are right on target with your post. You said it better than I did, but we are in 100% agreement.

People need to get out there and start creating their own payment buttons to their own products or affiliate products every day. Every hour. Sure, education is good, but you've got to graduate some day and get into the real world.

    Great post, Sandor!

      Hi Mike,

      Thanks for your opinion.

I find your quote interesting, because its essence is similar what I thought. Unfortunately, these things are reflected in very often. I hope they read, to whom it relates.

      Cheers,

The money is always greener in the newest WSO

    Sandor,

You have illuminated the follies of quite a few here, but I doubt they will heed the message.

Over the years, I have had to come to realize that for many people it is their nature. For some, it is like teaching a pig to dance. It not only wastes your time, but it irritates the pig.

    Good post Sandor. Thanks

If it is any help, I have a big sign up in my cupboad saying DONT GIVE THE WIFE THE CREDIT CARD!

IT is in bold, so I am thinking when I wrote that, i must of had a good point.

          Hi celente,

I don't understand you. Are you saying that you don't give a credit card - which is exhausted by you - to your wife?

Now that's neither nice NOR accurate. I'm one of those WSO grabbing newbies, AND a woman, and I can tell you that I do a great deal more damage in a shoe store.

I would like to thank everybody for their wonderful advice on this thread. I'm thinking, right now, that among all the investments I've made in my IM business, joining the War Room was by far the most valuable.

Yeah, Matt. It's analog with that: 'the neighbor's grass is always greener'.

Over the years, I have had to come to realize that for many people it is their nature.
Which doesn't change overnight, as we know.

      Good metaphor.

Of course, it is tiring after a while. Nevertheless, I don't say anything, just that I think is right - based on my experiences. I trust that it'll help someone, in some manner.

    Sandor,

The people who most need to read your story will not understand it...

It reminds me of an Oklahoma joke... Since I am from Oklahoma, I really appreciate it...

It was election day in the United States, and a man was travelling for business...

His plane trip was laid over in Oklahoma City, so he spent his evening in the bar at the airport...

He noticed that the bar had several TV's set up, but they were only playing football on the television...

So the fellow asked the bartender, "Don't you get CNN here in Oklahoma?"

    The bartender said no...

Incredulous, the traveler said, "Do you mean to tell me that they don't have CNN on the cable system here?"

The bartender replied, "Oh yeah... CNN is on our cable system... We just don't understand it...."

I'm glad you picked yourself up when you fell out of that tree Sandor but I bet those cherries still tasted good.

I sometimes think that a lot come into IM not believing that it will work for them or not believing in themselves so they do everything half heartedly and moan as they move on to something else before they've given themselves or the products a fair chance.

At least as a little boy you learned something from your mistake, but some people never do and that's a shame.

If you refer to that cherries in my childhood, then I only can say that I feel their taste in my mouth still, too. Hey... you know... the time beautifies your memories.

Agreed. Half hearted work makes nothing, or at the best case only a weak result. But I think, they aren't motivated sufficiently. Motivated people can work wonders, as you know. At least I think so.

Sandor, you clearly understand the power of telling a good story. Stories, especially personal ones like yours, are often far more effective than preaching.

I never landed in the hospital, but I spent a lot of hours standing on a dock soaking wet from trying to lean just a little further out...

Then diving to retrieve my rod and reel from the bottom of the lake.

I finally opened my eyes on the way up on one of those dives, and saw a thick school of fish right under the dock.

Thanks for helping me remember that discovery.

Bill, as a former Nebraskan, I was often told that the annual OU-NU game was the only event that could raise the average IQ of both states. Didn't matter which team played at home. (Little known fact - the 'N' on the Nebraska helmet stands for 'Nowledge')

I'm just trying to do what I can do. One of my guiding principle is: you should only teach by example - and if you have your own story, tell us and we will undertand you better.

      Hi Bill,

It's nice to see you here.

You've an instructive story. Thank you. I can imagine the situation, and believing, I understand that.

It shows, that you need to speak on that language your audience will understand. Otherwise, you get that kind of effect as if you are talking to others instead them - as the bartender says.

And... if you don't speak their language, they will not understand you, therefore, as a marketer you'll not able to sell them anything. As simple as that.

      Cheers,

    Hi Sandor - great story.

I think that what happens when people get online is that they don't really know what they want, so they start grabbing ways to get something when they really have no clue of what that something is. When you went out you did not go for cherries, you went out to find friends to have fun with. Along the way you found cherries and for a short time were more interested in the immediate satisfaction of the cherries than the longer term satisfaction of putting those cherries to use for you. You kids could have collected the cherries and made a delicious pie or sold them, and used the profit for something else? But you did not have ideas about that at the time because you were dazzled by what was in front of you.

New marketers need to understand that for any questions they have, or for any information they get -- there are no answers that have any point to them if the person does not have a vision of exactly what they want. Achieving money isn't a goal - it's the result of reaching a goal. As long as all they know is that they want money, they can never USE anything given to or bought because there HAS to be a context in which to use it.

You can learn EVERYTHING in this forum - but until you decide on what your end product is going to be, NONE of that knowledge is going to do you a whit of good. Coming into the forum and asking how to make money online without knowing what it is you want to do is nothing more than asking a nonsense question.

      Sal,

It's nice to have you here.

You know, my childhood story happened more than sixty years ago. So, at that time - as you pointed out right - I was more interested in eating than selling. I didn't feel the inclination towards business, at that time. In other words: I was just a consumer... LOL

The business mentality knocked on my door later, when I was ten years old. Please don't share, but I won a literary prize with my short story about summer vacation. After that, I made homeworks for my class-mates in exhange for different things. (For example: once I wrote a paper for a pair of rabbit.)

Anyway, that was the time when I started to write simple business plans, too.

In the course of times I learned things about business. Nearly everything was learned on my own costs. But the first one was to know WHY am I doing what I do. When I started my independent offline business in 1990, I took care on learning both theory and practice. And I'm here now. I'm not an all-knowing, but I try to learn what I need.

Thank you for your helpful contribution.

      Take care,

      Sandor
