I'm Here To Rip Your Head Off

To use a common vernacular term of one of my former professions, it means I'm here to make money and make sure you pay more then you're supposed to for something.

I'm an Internet Marketer, former Car Salesman, former Yellow Pages Salesman, and even a former Picture Salesman. From what I can gather of stereotypes of these professions, I'm one of the biggest scumbags, liars, and cheats around. My entire goal in life is to screw over people I call 'customers' but who are really 'sheep in front of my truck.'

My websites are there to cull these unsuspecting people into a funnel where they invariably will lead themselves and their hard earned cash into my wallet.

I am not ethical at all. I enjoy pissing on morality and those who can't understand why I do what I do.

It's all for the money, of course.

What do I care that you're a father, mother, sister, brother, with mouths to feed and things to do and bills to pay? All that matters is that you're funding MY expensive habits. I don't own a mansion, but boy do I love strip clubs and partying, as well as some not-so-legal substances.

I'm a complete scumbag. And you're here to get advice from me. I give you some rehashed bull****e and you're happy as a clam, till you realize it doesn't work and I send you another link to the PREMIUM version of what I sent you. Little do you know there's a Silver, Gold, and Platinum version as well.

I do so enjoy hanging out on the beach while you cry and go into debt.

================================================== =====

Apparently, this is how most of us are seen.

I personally cannot avoid rocks/**** being thrown at me, because I really was a used car salesman. People automatically think I'm out to sell them something and get as much money as I can from them. Just one of those things, I suppose.

But I know for a fact that the majority of marketers on this forum are here to really learn, to increase their knowledge and be better at what they do. Those who have knowledge, will more often than not, hand a bunch of it out for FREE! Shocking, yeah, I know. But its what we call Camaraderie around here. There's plenty of information here for free, and most of the successful people on this forum DO NOT MIND OFFERING HELPFUL ADVICE IF YOU ASK.

I was new at one point as well, and was afraid as all get out to ask guys like Steven Wagenheim or Bill Farmer or Caliban Darklock or Tina Golden or Dan C Rinnert or anyone with a name and reputation on this site for help. God forbid that I do that! What if they make fun of me?

Then one day, I said, I really don't understand something. I really don't. I messaged one of the aforementioned people, and they offered me all the help they could. I ended up buying a guide from the guy! But it was because he helped me out and that particular guide is something I felt I needed to invest in.

Yes, I do troll around the forum a lot. You'll see me give bull****e answers all the damn time, just for the sake of giggles. But if you ask me to be serious, I'll do whatever I can to help and make sure you get the best advice I can give.

Because that's how most of us around here work. We want to help, we want to see others succeed. We want YOU to make your online business a success so you can tell others about this great place and be happier with what you do.

But there are people who still, constantly, have to come here and call us scam artists and thieves and everything else under the sun.

Used Car Salesman seems to be one of the worst insults.

Not that I care, I learned to sell stuff as a car salesman, I also learned to treat my customers right and make sure they're happy.

For instance, here's a good story as to why you should work hard for anyone:

A few years ago, when I first started out in the car business, I tried selling a gentleman on a car. He was a nice guy, and I spent a good few hours with him, working with him, talking, browsing, etc. In the end, my company would not sell him a car. He had nothing nice to say about my company. But he loved the fact that I worked with him even when they were telling him no. He became my friend and took me out for dinners many times after that. He'd recommend his friends to talk to me if they needed a car, DESPITE THE FACT MY COMPANY DID HIM WRONG.

I learned valuable lessons in my time there.

I learn new lessons here all the time. I'm happy to help. I'm happy to play around. I'm also happy to troll the real trolls with nothing useful to say.

This is a forum for making friends, networking, and having fun when we're taking a break from work. It's also the best library for IM knowledge this side of the pecos! TREAT IT AS SUCH! You can become more successful the more you talk, try to help, and just interact, because people will notice you and will help if you ask them.

So, my fellow marketers, tell me, what causes you to keep using this forum, and what is the best story you have of how you go above and beyond for your customers?

-Sean Sheehan

Been Furniture salesman, Pepsi salesman, beer salesman, used car salesman, new car 'closer', new car sales manager, dealership general sales manager and f & I director.

Was honest and ethical to a fault and sold/closed/sold more cars and financing than ANY of the creeps that stretched the truth or outright lied.

I helped people on a daily basis... yes HELPED! Helped get them a loan or a car they would be happy with for more than 6 months.

And I made a lot of money. I too do well face to face and not so much on the 'marketing' side. BUT,,, honesty, integrity and human caring go a long way in both mediums.

Instead of waking up and thinking: 'What can I do to make money today.', I think: 'What can I do to try to be available to help someone that may need some help today?' (No matter my own problems.)

Might be just a smile or when asked on the phone: 'Can I do anything else for you today?' I say: 'Yes, You can have a great day!' Or much more sometimes.

It is not always easy to do, especially for me as I have been in constant and extreme pain for 3½ years after a car accident. (Not only can I not work the sales I have always known, respected in and am good at, but even typing a post this long will exact a price from me.)

BUT, I still try to remember, there are others worse off and I do what I can to be available to help others when the opportunities arise. Have to get out of my problems and pay attention to the moment to do that. Some days, hours, minutes or moments, that is hard to do. The 'secret' is keep trying to always do the right thing, EVEN when you are SURE doing it will doom your day/plan/opportunity. I can tell you from YEARS of experience, miracles DO happen. The results are rarely are as bad as you project and may times exceed one's expectations when you walk the walk of ethical and civilized behavior. We are our 'brother's (& sister's) keeper.

***There are no greater percentage of 'bad' people in car sales, IM, lawyering, stock brokering, real estate sales, etc. than in any other profession. Focus on helping instead of what people say you are, (or what you think they would say you are). You will live a longer, more productive and happy, joyous and free life. That I GUARANTEE!***

(Besides, identifying a need and offering a viable and effective solution is one of the ways to make a damn good living, sleep well at night and be comfortable in your own skin.)

To be honest you mixed so many ideas, my mind is really confused, but I can tell you this in all honesty:

This is what happens to people when they talk to me on a regular basis. I do try to make everything streamlined, but I think that It just makes sense in my head, and looks like gibberish to others.

Well, I'm sure you know, but just in case my reference to the used car sales person was to make a point to the op in the op (lol, other person in the other post) and I realize that everyone is different and it was not a crack at someone who might be or was a used car sales person.

Keep in mind I am heavily medicated at the moment, but I understand what you are saying (and not because I am medicated).

Most of the nay sayers who happen to grace this forum really have limited experience or no experience and I have found to take it with a grain of salt.

There are some really good people here! But not everyone has the time or inclination to get to know all of them and that is understandable.

All you can do is keep being you.

There are many many wonderful people on this forum that do go out of their way to help newbies and pro's alike.

20 brains are better than 1 when some one has a real problem.

Alot of people come here terrified and desperate when they have just lost their job and need to make money to put food on the table and the community spirit gives them hope if nothing else.

Every one is or has been in the same boat at some point so it really is easy to feel the pain and frustration others are going through.

Plus you do get some really funny threads here and stories of stupid shenanigans going on in the IM world.

Oh my...! Indeed I find it very fun to make friends and helped out my clients! I mean, if you could take their problems as if they were yours and offer solutions and help out of the price they pay, then you've earned 3 things - a returning customer, a friend and her friends (aka more customers).

In response to your question: I've been trolling around this forum for over a year but never really bother to sign up. One thing is that there's aint no free software here (lol!) but there are plenty of brilliant advice here. I mean when I started IM, this is the place that helped me out. There are some crappy people here but there are also some very decent warriors here that really offer genuine solutions for free. So, why not?

    Hi Sean,

Treat them as you want them to treat you.

Says this a man, who also sold cars, Amway products, insurance products - among other things.

And that was my leading principle also, when I managed the work of my subordinates, too. I worked ocassionally with 4 - 5 people, but there was a long period, when I needed to care with 37 people.

If you are correct, you can manage any situations.

This was long before my ventures in IM

I owned a printshop for 11 years. During this time we had (yet another) recession. This left many of my smaller business customers in deep excrement, and unable to pay their bills, including to us.

Rather than send the wolves in, we sat down and processed those that we believed were suffering genuine hardship, and the sheisters who were trying to have us over (English term).

I wrote or called each customer, telling them that we would not be chasing the debts. All we asked was, once they were on their feet, would they please bring their business back to us.

When the fog started lifting 3 years later, not only did 85% of them come back, but over half offered to repay the outstanding bills (without any pressure from us).

Add to this that they use word of mouth to bring us even more new customers, including some biggies.

      Why am I here?
After prowling for a while, thinking there wasn't a place for a know nothing rooky, one day I found a post which I could really advise and help with. Now there's no stopping me. I have received a lot of help and tips from Warriors, and been able to give something back to others at the same time.

Even if I don't post an elaborate thank you to a post, if I've found it helpful or interesting at least I hit the 'Thanks' button.

      Thanks Warriors
