Searching inside php files

INTERNET MARKETING

Can someone please tell me of a program that will do a search and replace inside php files?

With many, many files, like Html Search and Replace" does.

Hi

Do you mean the code of a php file? If so, any text editor can open a php file and let you do what you want. PHP is just a text file with the php extension.

not sure if notepad++ will do search and replace for text in files but you can search for "text in files"

so if you have a directory of files and you want to see which ones have a certain line of code or variable in it then notepad++ can do it and it's free

yes,

there are several programs like this, but i like "quick search and replace"

Its very handy going through sources and whatever text and replace patterns in the text. And its free!

I have been using this bad boy for the past 10 years to replace text and PHP files:

Hi pede -

This place has a lot of free stuff that really is free. Some free search and replace utilities are free but have limitations. Like can only do replace the first 20 occurrences so you must do it over and over or pay for the full version. I have this and have used it several times with no problems or limitations. Free. Here's the direct link so you don't need to go through hunting through the site.

  I'm pretty sure that the program you mentioned - HTML Search & Replace - can do what you want. I think you just have to change the mask from *.htm* to *.php

most software coding tools have this feature. if you can use whatever you are using now to do this for html file, then chances are that you can do it using it too.

Hey guys.. thanks very much for all the great tips.

HTML Search and Replace" will not use .php as mask. I have the paid version and tried that. Thank you though.

Coding tools do have this feature but they can only be used on the file you are working on. Not entire directories with hundreds or thousands of files..

BTW guys...

I have Seoquake for Firefox installed and It displayes all it's crap inside the post here every time I make one. Do you guys see it to, or is it just on my computer screen?

Even if I edit the post and delete it, it still shows right back up again inside the post.

I would hate to have yo uninstall it to be able to post here but I will if that is what it takes.

Looks like crap inside post and makes it look like I am doing it on purpose.

in most coding tools, create a project, add all files in the folder to the project, then search. it works when you have nothing else to use.
