How do I work having several blogs?

I have about 10 blogs and it's becoming really stressful having to post every week for every single blog since each is about something different and I would just like to know how can I make this less difficult and get more blog visitors because it's a lot of work getting traffic for each single blog.THX!

  • Get WPRobot and start doing some autoblogging... it'll pull in other people's posts and you can decide whether or not you want to post that content. It's great for sprinkling in some fresh content to blogs that otherwise would be ignored. Also, it only pulls from sources that allow you to repost their content, such as youtube, certain article marketing sites, yahoo answers, etc.

You can find it at wprobot.net, it's absolutely worth the money.

This advice can get your site shut down too, you know. All it takes is pulling the wrong person's post or pulling posts without links intact and you're screwed.

Also, with only 3 blogs a piece of software isn't necessary. I could snag three articles every day from various article directories and post them to three blog in about fifteen minutes. And webapex is correct. This would not work with blogger blogs.

With 3 blogs you should be able to update them on a daily basis once you get the hang of it. Once you get in the habit of writing every day it becomes almost effortless.

I would also recommend that you get a hosting account and build your business on your own real estate. Putting all your efforts on someone elses property could make you cry someday if your blogs got deleted. Ask some of the folks weeping, wailing and hear the gnashing of teeth after their Hubpages got deleted after the latest google update.

Hope this helps... just looking out for ya!

Try and write ahead for each blog. Like sit down a couple days and write a whole months worth of content for a site and then you will only have to work on getting traffic. However if only a couple of these blogs are generating money get rid of the rest through Flippa or something and focus on furthering the blogs that actually making money. If all of them are making money outsource the content writing.

Just guessing by the blogspot domains that these are not huge money makers, if they were you could hire a full time Philippine VA with a college degree for as little as $250 a month who might be able to take on the majority of the content creation, under your direction. I'm not familier with autoblogging options for blogspot blogs, I assume WPRobot is only for self hosted wordpress blogs.

get something you are interested in on your blog. you don't need to write 10 different per day, you can write 3 or 2, and express them in different words.

Depending on the topic of your blog, you can outsource some articles to make it easier on yourself

I don't know how well you are doing with each of those blogs but if you are just starting out, I'd actually just recommend you maybe focus on 5 or so and really work hard on them till they get established. Once they're ranking well and have settled in, you don't need to update as much to keep the site there and you can redistribute your time on other sites. If you find yourself trying to maintain too many at once you'll end up with 10 mediocre blogs which isn't going to benefit you much.

    • There comes a time when you have to spend money to make money.

I saw an ad on Fiverr today where the gigger would write three articles of 250 words each...for $5.

      ...Except the OP's using Blogger.

I'd also suggest to the OP moving the sites to a platform you own. It would be even more annoying pushing yourself to post to all these blogs if Blogger decided to change their TOS and remove your blogs, without even telling you.

Blogger owns your blogs, not you.

Most people who have a lot of blogs and don't make them into autoblogs do a drip feed. You basically write up ten or twenty articles for each blog, and schedule them out through however long. That way, when you want to post something fresh, you just go post then... and the rest of the time, the blog runs itself. Mark on your calendar when the schedule runs out, so you can be sure to go add another batch of content later.

There is nothing wrong with autoblogs, and plenty of people will give you plenty of advice about them. But there is no hands-off approach that works in the long run, so lean toward the approaches where you do LESS work, not NO work.

You can also flip these - and next time pay closer attention to niches you are genuinely interested in, know something about, and could talk for hours about with a friend over coffee. Otherwise, you're not really in business for yourself, but merely a niche slave.

Autoblogging is probably your easiest bet. If WP Robot is beyond your budget, an equally good auto blog software to do the job is Auto Blog Samurai... (it works with Blogspot blogs).

The system comes with very good tutorials if you're new to autoblogging that will walk you through the processes quickly and easily.

You can either pay writers to create content, or you could focus your own work on the 2 or 3 most profitable of those blogs.

As other's have mentioned, the most pressing thing to do would be to move the blogs to your own domain(s). A business built on someone else's web site can be lost easily, and then all the work was for nothing.

      Hi lauraca94,

Are they making money? If so reinvest some profit in outsourcing.

Are they not making money? Sacrifice those with the least potential until you reach a manageable number of blogs.

Hire freelance writers to help you with some of your content or invite guest posters.

Just choose 1 or 2 of your blogs to write posts in on a consistent basis and hit up the others whenever you get a chance.

Another thing that I do is create a homepage for your blogs to be used as a landing page and then you can add posts whenever you have time. But at least people will still know what your site is about, and you'll have plenty of good content and keywords for your homepage.

Great question, and some really great feedback in this thread.

I have been in your shoes before and came to the same realizations as other Warriors here. It can really be a chore keeping up a lot of totally diverse blogs when you don't follow a few rules. The two pieces of advice that have worked for me are:

    1. Pick topics that you are personally interested in.
The ideas for articles will flow much easier when you actually use the products you write about, engage in the niche you blog about, etc.

I like @hwhite's 'Cup of Coffee' test. If it's a topic you could talk about over an entire cup of coffee with a friend of yours, and have something interesting to say, it's probably a good topic for you to be blogging about. Otherwise, you're just a niche slave, or while reading @hwhite's comment, the rhyming, yet more graphic niche bi*** came to mind.

    2. Write a few posts at a time and schedule them to post at later dates.
It is just easier once you've got the juices flowing to write a few articles on a similar topic. There are great 'drip' plugins and apps out there, but you really don't need anything special. Wordpress will let you publish your posts at any future date. You can knock out a whole month's posts at one time if you want.

On a related note, I do this for Twitter updates as well. Tweetdeck lets you schedule Twitter updates. This is much easier than having to think up an interesting Twitter post and sending it out throughout the week. I come up with topics and put them all out there each week and Tweetdeck takes care of the rest. Plus, it's free!
