Ok, I want to make a PLR eBook package

Please critique my short plan:

-Make a very relevant eBook with high quality content, 20-30+ pages maybe

-Get some positive reviews and testimonials for my ebook

-Include a free wordpress theme to help promote the book with 4 PLR articles to help promote it

-Include a book cover with editable PSD file

-Allow the eBook to be edited/translated

-Sell for about $30 in the WSO forum

Does this sound like a viable plan? Is it possible to 50-100+ of these packages here (assmuming high quality content), or will it be necessary to branch out?

It's a viable plan but this community does not need any more rehashed junk.

I agree on avoiding rehashed junk, I think I can create a high quality product that will be useful for many. I've had years of experience in the topic I'm writing on and I think I can save people from a lot of the frustrations that I've experienced.

      Thanks!

You may want to check out the current WSO's that sell packages similar to what you are planning. There are some going for $15-$20 with 10 or more articles, more graphics, etc. Researching what others are offering may give you a better idea of what your package should include as well as how to price it.

Thanks Kecia! I have been going through a lot of these with great interest.

I do have one question however: I'm trying to write a larger eBook rather than the 10+ articles you mentioned (I have seen a few of those WSO forum as well) - is there any added value to having it be a book rather than a collection of articles?

Ok.. one more question: how much extra value is there if I say I'll only sell 100 total?

Some of the PLR packages, particularly blogs, offer an ebook as well as articles. I apologize, I thought your original post had mentioned 5 articles would be included.

Limiting the sales would add more value and all you to sell at a slightly higher price.

Ah, yes you're right - I was planning on giving 4 articles away with this as well, kind of just as some bonus promo material. And thanks for answering my question about the books/articles combo.

I guess I'll really have to step up my game to get a higher price, I'm hoping that giving away the customized wordpress theme to promote the ebook will also be a nice bonus.

That certainly looks like a viable plan, be sure to promote it in as many ways as possible and not just depend on the WSO section to make your target sales amount.

That's good advice... I'm going to start a new wordpress site on one of my old domains and promote the hell out of it - may as well make use of my skills. Maybe I've finally made enough mistakes to create a profitable website lol

I think this is a good plan, and you say you have a lot of experience in the topic so that is definitely a good thing! Just make sure it's a topic that there's demand for from marketers here.

You may have to branch out other than just selling it here. If you have lists, of course send an email about your new WSO to them too.

As for the package itself, I definitely think there's value in offering the package as en eBook as opposed to articles. Don't quote me on this, but I have seen that eBooks can often be perceived as higher value, even if it was the exact same content that would have been provided in equivalent articles. But of course adding on the extra promotional articles is always a good idea too.

One other element you might like to include is a sales page - if you look at the eBook PLR packages around here you'll see many include sales pages. Personally I have avoided that as I don't have enough experience in sales pages, but it could help you get a higher price if you include one.

Thanks for the advice on creating a sales page, I'm definitely going to do that as well!

Your plan appears sound but you may want to rethink your pricing.
The average price you will find for similar PLR products is about $17.

As others have suggested, you will need to create a truly unique
product (no re-hashing) that delivers great value.

    Best of luck to you.

Thanks! and $17 sounds like a good target for this first ebook package. I've already got ideas for a few more, and I'm currently coding my new homepage as well.. I'll post some updates later
