Creating a landing page or sending traffic directly to my site?

I have a specialty travel site. We have multiple packages for different parts of the world. For instance, Brazil Carnival. I currently do PPC via google, but wanted to increase my SEO via natural search. I've been doing a link vine with web 2.0 pages including articles, blogs, social bookmarking, etc as well as creating pages that link over to my site. It's had moderate success, I think because my site even though it has a lot of content about brazil carnival, is not solely focused on that package.

Ultimately my main goal is for people to purchase my travel packages thus going directly to my site. What I have been thinking of doing is creating landing pages for instance a brazilcarnivalpackages.com site and just overload it with content for Brazil carnival and start sending natural traffic to that site. Let me know what you think.

its a good idea-but could you please come up with keywords that people will be directed to your site with.Your key words will come in handy given that your suggested domain name is quite a mouthful

    Hi Mate,
Any IM'er will tell you that people rarely buy on the first Visit, especially if the website is new and they have no previous experience with the site or the company behind it.

Why not place a form on your website and offer something Like a coupon or special deal to gain email addresses.

Start a Newsletter for your packages and Include plenty of feedback from previous customers. In fact as Much as you can.

It seems to me that you are taking the right steps with your link building regime, Just keep that content flowing and every at opportunity ask for contact details.

Build a list, Build Trust, Build sales over the medium and Long Term. This is the most valuable lesson I have learned, the art of building that relationship first. Then Offer Massive value and watch as your profits grow.

if your Going to use a landing Page make it a squeeze page and when the form gets filled in shoot them to the content on the main site with a nice welcome email in the inbox.

    Best Wishes mate

My advice would be to use a subdomain of your current site that is strictly about the subject. Google would see this is a different site but not a new one like starting a fresh domain. Also it would help build the main sites brand at the same time.
