Questions about URL redirection, help?

So I have this site.. it has, lets say 30 pages.. I want to "redo" my site.. but the odds are I will not be creating the exact same pages, so all the pages that are indexed in G when clicked on will probably go nowhere. Is there anything I can do to redirect those pages out there to still come to some page, any page on the site?

I am just now thinking it through, maybe this is something I do in Cpanel, redirect each page url to the home page maybe..

cheers,

ej

Yeah setup a redirect in cpanel so that any broken links go to your homepage.

You can setup a 404 redirect so visitors as a catch all for non existing pages, it can just send them to your home page, not an elegant solution and not good for retaining backlink juice.

Better for seo would be to create a separate 301 (permanent) redirect for each orphaned address, sending the visitor to the closest equivalent, these are code lines you can add to your .htaccess file, here's one 301 redirect tutorial.
