Stuck in a rut and feeling unfocused with my IM.

I've been dabbling in several different branches of the proverbial IM tree over the past couple of years. However, I haven't really found my passion on what I should be pursuing. I've done affiliate marketing, CPA, ghostwriting and a little offline as well. I've given each a chance (at least a couple of months if not more, on each method) and learned the ropes well but I'm finding that I'm not enjoying working my business as I should. I have little time to play with (two young kids at home) and don't have the hours at hand to dedicate full time hours. I want to succeed but I am at a point where I am really struggling with things.

I need guidance and a kick in the pants to get me going again. Anyone have any advice??

Whenever I need motivation, I just talk to a few affiliate mangers. Insane figures are thrown around like it's nothing. 100k/week here, 6 figs/mo there...

That's enough to PUMP ME UP every time!!

    • Have you enjoyed any of the things you've tried?
    • Is there anything out there that intrigues you and you'd like to try?
    • What do you mean by: "I'm not enjoying working my business"?
We all get in a rut. The IM lifestyle can be great but it's not the end all or be all. We're still human beings and it's natural to lose interest at times, lose motivation, or feel frustrated.

Would love to hear more about what you're feeling and maybe we can brainstorm!

    All the best,
    Merlyn

You have to find something you are so passionate about that you can hardly stand to not think about it... Then be passionate for months on end... you will work so hard that its crazy but you wont realize how much you are working...

As far as family? It depends on where you are at... If your family depends on your creating... then they need your GREATNESS more than they need your grace. They already know you love them... and there is always time to spend here and there, but your CREATION determines whether that time is joyous or worrisome.

If you dont need to create all that bad... Its all good, but if you DO and you want to be your own creator... Being obsessed for a period of time is what seperates successes and failures... Its programming. You are inwardly afraid that if you are too dedicated to greatness you will become one of those "Mean nasty rich people"... But in truth, you will become one who can provide blessing and greatness in the lives of others.

You want time with the Kids, take it... but then go back to having your head in the sand. Get used to working with them running around you... Thats the only choice if you want to be on the 20 side of the ole 80/20 rule.

    My two cents.

Listen to this man, for he tells the truth

Just one other thing, when you are that passionate about something, it shows. Which helps.

I took a professional career test several years back and it helped tune me in to my strengths and my passions. You may find this helpful as well.

    Good luck!

If you're trying to regain your motivation (which is what it sounds like) I would do two things.

    1) Go do some reading about improving your mindset, specifically when it comes to wealth. Tony Robbins is always a favorite of mine. Think and Grow Rich is great as well, and also feels like a piece of history. It's amazing how applicable the principles in a 75 year old book still are.

    2) Find a great coach, and don't be afraid to spend a little for one. It will help focus you, and maybe give you a little more direction.

No matter what, dabbling in multiple different methods is the worst thing you can do. It will bring little success because you're not spending the necessary time or energy on a single facet. Hope this helps Charlotte! Good talking to you again!

    Hey Charlotte,

I know the feeling, when I started out I was all over the place, trying this and trying that and not finding out if anything worked properly. You need to discover your "why", why are you trying to make money on the net and not just rely on a job, the answer to that question will spur you on, you then need to invest time and money on getting educated in something you like and can see yourself doing.

Best of luck and stay with it, all will be rewarded in the end
