Will Removing Date From Post Affect SEO?

Hi

Does anyone know one way or the other if removing the date from posts on blogs affects the SEO and search positions on Google?

    I believe it still logs the date for google purposes regardless. Removing the date is just a visibility thing. The nice thing about removing the date is it gets more people reading. A lot of people won't read a post if it looks like its a few years old.

      I agree. I usually remove the dates on most of my websites, it doesn't impact any search engine since that knows the date you last updated anyway.

      Hi Steve, that's what I thought. I find I place less relevance on posts that are dated even though the topic has no 'sell by date' such as weight loss or 'get a six pack' etc etc.
