Social Media Marketing Plan

Okay so I should start out by saying I really do not know very much about social media marketing but am building a website which is a freebie for actors, used to be an actor and my way of putting something back, which is only going to work if I can build up a community on the social media front.

I am currently focusing on a Facebook Fan page and Twitter page. The site isn't launched yet and I would like to build up the communities while the site is being built and get them involved in choosing logos, site designs etc...

To be honest I am really not sure where to start other than that I need a plan, and a good one. I need to put together something that will grow the communities while at the same time provoking discussion.

I guess what I am asking here is for any help please, either pointing me in the right direction or someone I can go to who would be able to work with me on this (I am happy to spend money for something worth while although because the site is going to be free I do have to be a bit careful on how much).

I really appreciate any thoughts you have.

    First of all, put your website up and create your facebook & twitter accounts.
    After this, promote your project in different places -> to get friends & followers.
    When you see your FB & Twitter profiles growing up -> start creating the website design, logo etc.. and promote it on these social media sites.

    Don't know how much it helps you...it's just a thought of mine on how i would do it.

    Show them what they'll find... make them curious about it.

    It's important to be in contact with the users and promote the website every time when you have the possibility and the right cliche.
    Make it naturally, without abusive advertising of the website...how i said: make them curious about it...give them a slice of the big part.
    Of course..you must have something that is valuable..useful for them...so keep and eye close and bring fresh content.

    Be flat out honest about your intentions on Facebook and what you future aim and freebies will be, they will love you for it.

    Generate interest by expressing your opinions in a way that infects them with your enthusiasm.

    Put your site up and start to build a list and quality email series.
