Default Quick (obvious?) paypal question...

Here's what I want to accomplish...

I want to make a paypal button that allows the buyer to pay via paypal WITHOUT JOINING paypal (without getting a paypal account) -- no matter how "instant" becoming a member of paypal, it is STILL an additional hurdle the buyer must jump through.

Is there a way to make such a button?

What's the best way to accomplish my goal? I want buyers to be able to pay via credit card through paypal, WITHOUT getting a paypal acct. themselves. Preferably WITHOUT having to weave their way through a maze of choices before being able to *BUY* using their CC -- again, all without joining paypal.

Yes? No?

Let me know.

Thanks!

Any PayPal button should take them to a page where they can either log in to pay or enter their credit card details, no?

Knock one up, put it on some test page (could just be the button and nothing else), press it, and see what happens!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Global Giving Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. I have friends in Japan, none of whom -- fortunately -- were affected. But lots of people are still doing it tough. So, thank you on their behalf.

I've heard, but have not played with, another function in PayPal that lets you set up a credit card payment button...and not have it look like they are even using PayPal. I forget with that is called...but a couple of my friends use that and swear by it.

Remember...if you take in to much to fast with PayPal...you can find
yourself with the account turned off and your funds frozen for up to
six months.

It's no fun...trust me.

That's scary! What's considered too much too fast? Anyone know?

Thanks.

Also, can a button like what Launch describes be set up easily? (looks like a plain CC method, with no 'maze of options' that encourage (slanted towards) JOINING paypal)

[Note: Not a new paypal account I'm about to
discuss...was up for about a year and did take
in money on a regular basis...just not a ton like
we saw during our Launch]

We took in A couple hundred thousand in the
first couple of days...and they shut us down. We
then got back up...and 3 days later, after taking in
a few more hundred thousands...they shut us down
again.

Then they waited over a month....while they verified
thousands of shipments had arrived...

then they only released half...and said they would
release the other half in FOUR months...

Then they also said any new money that comes in
would have half held for 4 months.

Try paying affiliates on that. It's no fun. I'll never
work a large project again that uses PayPal as
the primary way of taking in money.

Having said that...if you increase the amount you
take in over time...I believe that is a much different
story.

The person that told me the thing about the PayPal
'tool'...loves paypal...and her site takes in a lot of
money every day...but she has a great paypal
reputation...and has been using them for years.

On that note...I found the description of what I
was told about...

'It's not so much a tool as the type of PayPal account you have and how your shopping cart integrates with it. You need to have PayPal Pro Virtual Terminal which requires a PayPal business account which is your first step.'

So...yeah...I hope that helped clarify

Bad news: The paypal account I want to use for this is brand new.

Good News(?): The item will probably bring in less than 100 orders at $25 each -- all within a 2-week period (now through Jan 12, approx).

Do you think that would trigger them freezing me?
