Income from Niches Other than IM

Seems everyone is talking of money being made but almost all of it is from IM niche. I won't market to IM until I make money in other niches. Anyone making good money outside of IM?
Would like to hear successes of other niches. Time frames and pointers.
Thanks,
Mary

Yep, there is a ton of money to be made in almost any niche if you think it through. I doubt anyone is going to reveal any successful niches that they're into though.

I have had good success with a certain brand of skincare, also some hair care products. I think women are the biggest buyers, so maybe catering to them is a good idea.

Go to www.markethealth.com and pick a site to promote. I promote many of these sites to lists. Many of niches here are very profitable and they are tangible products.

It only seems like everyone is making money from the IM niche alone because WF is an IM forum. Most people don't talk about their niches here outside of IM niches.

I think the money is in anything online for the most part. Its just how you market it that will make you the money honestly. Just try a niche you are interested in and test around a bit it will work with anything.

There are CPA offer for everything from diet and skin care to auto related stuff. You can also be an amazon affiliate (they sell everything from computers to dvds). At the end of the day though IM related stuff is probably the easiest to break into as a beginner.

It's funny how some people make their first buck online by telling other people strategies on how to make money online. But that is the wonderful world of IM.

I think its because generally in order to learn something you have to pay for it generally. And when people are looking to learn anything about making money online they think they have to pay for the best information.

Yep! I'm outside IM niche and nearly hit six figures in first 9 months in the business. So it's definitely possible.

Damn nice! I had my boom last year and it's looking like I will hit 6 figures with my niche sites by the end of the year, all outside the IM niche. Although I will be blogging soon on making money online, but it's more of a personal journal to help others then a money making effort.

        Hey guys,

First I want to say, thanks for this entire thread and all the info some of you have given. truly appreciate it.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you monetize other niches. I have been involved in researching IM for 3 years I have made very very little money but this year i did make my first $100 sale but not on a daily or monthly basis just one sale lol.

Even though IM is the niche im interested and love, I know there are other niches with less competition.

Where do i start? I know how to research a niche, but what do i do to make money from these niches?

I know people make money from amazon but i never understood how with a 4% commission.

Every time i think of CPA's, I tell myself "why build other peoples list for a quick buck, when i could have long term customers with a list of my own."

I have also considered trying to make a "Blog Empire"

Whats some of the best ways to monetize a non-IM related niche?

Similar situation here...it started clicking for us a few months ago. We probably won't make 6 figures this year, but should be at the 5 figures per month sometime in Q4 of this year, if we keep up production.

We started off making less than $500 this last December, but crossed the $5,000 mark in May. Like Jeremy, we don't make any real money from our site, we just do it to help others, learn from their comments, build community, etc. Our real money is outside the IM niche and based on the process we lay out on our site.

Besides that, we still have our "day job" with the outsourcing company...but we don't cater to IMers, usually.

Yeah, IM is really competetive. According to a IM related blod 150K people beginning their IM business every week and 95% of them will be frustrated soon and give up! But if you can help those people giving them real value YOU WILL MAKE tons of money in IM

It depends what you consider the "IM niche". I'm not sure if you mean Internet Marketing vs Offline Marketing or the "Make Money Online" type of marketing.

To me, the IM niche is not really a niche, but is marketing you do online. While a niche is which vertical or subset of a vertical you target. like: diet, biz ops, health, insurance, credit, dating, gaming, etc.
Those are what I consider niches.
So basically if you really want to get technical or geeky, Internet Marketing is just a type of marketing. We are all marketers, who choose to primarily market online as opposed to using direct mail, phone, door to door etc.

As far as IM being competitive, I actually disagree. I think that if you know how to find the right product or service you can make a lot of money online. Only certain niches are competitive, like biz ops (make money online), and a few others. But it's still a wide open playing field out there once you dig past the first layer where the newbies are.

Actually if you're a newbie to IM you should probably not listen to the so called gurus and get into the competitive niches, because that's where the money is! It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Even if you're a lousy shot, you will get a few, just with dumb luck.
