Using Clickbank as a basic payment processor like paypal

Guys Im doing some development work on a large site that currently accepts payments via paypal and we are considering migrating across to Clickbank. For simplicity and also for the possibility of implementing an affiliate system.

Can anyone tell me if Clickbank can be used to accept payments like Paypal, in that, there isnt actually a digital product being sold, and simply a service being offered? Members would simply be buying, what we call "credits".

The site in mention is under "share accommodation" in my sig link.

I think you will find that you will need a 'physical' product. Maybe try using a voucher as your product? Just an idea.... regards Allen

I don't think Clickbank is set up for that yet.

I use paypal for my business and I really like it. And clickbank requires you're selling a physical product.

This simply isn't so. There are many services for sale on Clickbank.

So what do you think Alexa? Yes or No?

I sent an email to them 2 days back, still waiting a response.

Could you show me an example of these services you mention?

          I don't know, Johnny.

I know that their so-called "24-hour delivery rule" doesn't really apply to services, though. They'll accept "delivery of a certificate of acknowledgement of entitlement to the service" as complying with it, anyway. But only Clickbank can pronounce on an individual case (which requires patience, as you mention!).

You know the processing fees come to about 9%, overall, and that they're retailers rather than payment processors? If someone wants the affiliate facility, that's obviously a different matter ... but I can't see anyone wanting to pay 9% processing fees just to do transactions there?!

The only one that springs immediately to mind is one for which I'm an affiliate, myself - and I don't disclose those, with apologies. :p

A couple of months ago I was trying to use ClickBank to sell my own website design services on a recurring basis and they would not go for. According to ClickBank they don't allow the "sale of services."

I am sure there are ways around this if you are already a top vendor but I am just a small time ClickBank vendor. I tried going back and forth with ClickBank through several emails and several phones to see if there was a way I could change my service/product offering to make it compliant but they just wouldn't go for it. Below is the message directly copied from my ClickBank ticket.

    "Hello,

Thank you for your request. Unfortunately we are not able to accept this product since we do not allow the sale of services. Any references to ClickBank (the name, logo, icons and marks identifying the Company's products and services) must be removed from your website since your product/service has been declined. ClickBank is a registered trademark of Keynetics Inc. and may not be used without written permission from the Company.

    Best of luck!

It surely is a shame as I wanted to leverage the built in affiliate program. After no success with ClickBank I did a custom setup of Authorize.net & IDevAffiliate for affiliate commission tracking.

The end result is great and I can now have affiliates sell my services and they will earn recurring commissions every month.

We use Paydotcom here for affiliate service programs, in case that helps, too (forgot to mention that above).
