If you got a MAC press Command Shift and Number 4
If you got a PC press screen print and paste in paint

Alternatively download 'awesome screen shot' for firefox or chrome

There are applications available as well that can solve this problem which often comes in bundle with a screen recorder. However, if you choose to make it simple, GavinStephenson said it all. Good with your project!

On a PC, go to the page you want, press the print screen button. Usually upper right. This will take a screenshor and copy it to your clipboard.

Open Paint and paste using CTRL V.

Then you can edit your screenshot.

If you want a partial screenshot, I use MWSnap and it works great. (Draw a rectangle around any part, etc.)

I use Fast Stone Capture for the PC. It's available from FastStone Image Viewer, Screen Capture, Photo Resizer ... I believe is their site.

It's free for non-commercial use (which is how I use it) and has a lot of different features including scrolling and capturing an entire web page if so desired.

For my use at home, it's a great piece of software.

If you are on a Mac, Snagit is awesome! I think that they have a PC version as well.
I think they both have a free 30 day trial.

Why would anyone do anything but hit "Prnt Scrn" then paste into whatever image editor they're using? You can crop the screen shot anywhere you want.

Uh, because we don't know any better? I have been using MWSnap and then putting that in Inkscape to mark up the image. I can do the same with your idea through Paint!

Yes, I second Snagit for simplicity and flexibility!

The PC version works great...and I believe Techsmith even has a 30 day fully functional trial, so you could use it and see how you like it.

    All the best,

I use the free version of Jing for this. One thing is that you can easily add annotations and text directions on your image. This you wont get through the keyboard route.

I don't know if anyone has recommended it yet but I currently use a program called Jing for my income opportunity e-books and other forms of online content that I create and this program works great. Best of all it's free to use and you can't beat that in this day and age.

I use a free program called screenhunter

all you do is press F6 and highlight what you want in the screenshot and it saves it to a file and copies to the clipboard.
