It has just come to my attention that someone is impersonating me and offering one-on-one coaching for a couple hundred dollars.

THIS IS A SCAM!

The only coaching I do is for my members and it is completely free for them. I do not offer any other type of coaching for any amount of money elsewhere.

The person who contacted me about this had already deleted the email and could not retrieve it.

If you receive an email from this loser, please forward it to me so that I may track this person down.

Also, is there anything that I can do legally if I find the origin of the emails?

I hope there's something that you can legally do. I'm thinking that of course this guy is probably looking to take people's money and run. At least send an email to your list if you haven't already, and keep asking people to spread the word like you've done here.

About the only way I can think of to track this cretin is to figure out where the payment is going.

One thing you can do if you get a line on the email, etc., is contact the FBI Internet division.

The same sort of thing happened to me a few months ago but
they didn't get my email off the Warrior Forum. It was a unique
email address that I use for one small group that I belong to.
Somehow we had a "mole" burrow in and get everyones email.
Once he was outed none of us heard from him again. I reported
his crappy looking web site to his host but I notice its still up.

I agree with you Steve that it is a weird sort of compliment and a sign of success, but in this particular case, it could seriously hurt Allen G. more than it helps...

It's one thing if someone steals your PRODUCT and distributes it illegally, giving you some 'underworld exposure' but when they steal your NAME & IDENTITY, that is an entirely different story. This person could really hurt Allen's reputation, and it definitely needs to STOP before any damage is done.

Allen, I will keep an eye out for you, and my best suggestion (once you find the email sender's hosting account) is to report it to the source of where this scumbag is broadcasting from... find their hosting provider, and send them a notice that one of their users is doing something illegal on their servers, and they will get squashed right quick.

This royally sucks. I do not envy your position Allen, and any other thoughts I come up with to help squish this termite before it does any damage to your framework, I will send to you asap.

I advise all of you to do the same, keep your eyes open and report anything suspicious to Allen Graves.

Is it possible the other guy's name actually is Allen Graves? There must be more than one out there.

There are at least 2 copywriters named Ray Edwards, and at least 2 marketers named Lisa Preston, but as far as I know, none of them are impersonating anyone.

I guess them pulling a scam using your name will pull in some quick cash (Could be someone else legit w/ same name as someone above mentioned earlier) but seriously if these criminals would focus as much attention on being legit as they do on scamming, they could be ultra successful in life.

It seems quite a few (Def. not all) in the IM arena as well as other successful biz owners I know were involved in illegal activities prior but focused direction elsewhere & ARE successful. A lot of crooks ARE smart

It could be that his name really is Allen Graves, but what are the odds he would be an article/internet marketing expert with the same domain name that I have. LOL

He's marketing himself with my identity, my websites, my history.

Hopefully he frequents this forum. On Monday morning I am going to consult a criminal lawyer as well as the FBI Cybercrimes division. Identity theft is a serious criminal activity which, in the United States, will carry hefty fines as well as federal jail time.

I don't have any evidence right now, but the word is spreading and the first bit of evidence that turns up, I will use it to throw the entire book at you.

I thought sleeping on it would calm me down, but the more I think about it, the more pissed off I get.

Anyhow, thanks for all the replies and support. I have received a couple of PMs that will help me out tremendously as well. Thanks to you (who wish to remain nameless).
