Can You Sell Something Thats Given For Free?

Seems like everything information related is given away free now a days. Is it possible to sell information products even when the solution is given away for free on YouTube and other web sites?

Yes, it's done all the time. Just re-write the information in a different way, put a different title to it and away you go!
    Just sell it!

    Well,
If you´re not violating any license agreement i believe you can sell it.

Sure thing. You'll rarely find a free resource that has ALL the necessary information in the same place. You can (almost) always add more value and your own spin and thereby making the product worth paying for.

Yes you can, but please try to tweak it a little or you'll be (rightfully) bashed. You don't want to lose the trust from your costumers.

    Hi Dave,

People discovered long ago that a part of an information is given away for free is useful. You can build your list that way, just to name one example.

Of course, if you are curious enough, then you'll buy the other part of information to get comprehensive view of whatever matter.

As for your question, you can sell any information, if it's good enough for people to buy. The price depends on what value they perceive on that product. If you increase the perceived value of your info signicantly, people will queued for your product.

    Best,

    Sandor

Yes, you can (only if you've rights). But it's doubtful that will people buy it. The reason is: a person who is? willing to buy a specific product, do some simple search on the internet before buy it. if he'll find it free???? this is not a good business model.

There should always be away to put a better spin on the information, or teach it in a simpler or more efficient way. They say there is nothing new under the sun.

Just look at the WSO section - most of the information products there are covering things which have been mentioned in the forum for free.

I've seen IMers make millions selling the same information that has been covered/offered in the warrior forum for free.

I used to work for a Newspaper. People shelled out hundreds of dollars a year for the exact same product that they could get online for free. So, my answer is....yes.

Napoleon Hill said, knowledge isn't power, organized knowledge is power. There's tons of free general info out there. Taking it and applying it to solve a problem or to fulfill a specific desire or need is what smart people do.

People, in the U.S. anyway, can watch TV for free.

They still buy DVDs of stuff they've watched for free.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Yes, but as others have said, it's really good to rewrite it with more information or even update it. Sometimes the free stuff isn't up to date and you can tweak it.

Some people don't want to spend their time surfing all over the net looking for information in various places. They're happy to have someone else do the research for them and compile it into one product.

It's called "old wine in new bottles"! It is done all of the time. Some repackaging it in the way you want to present it is nothing wrong with doing it. And who knows, after a few repackings you might come up with a completely new it which you could call your own. And which would probably ease your mind.

A few days ago I asked same question and got same answers. Yes, you can. Just make it in other words and sell. By the way, I advice you to be an affiliate because you can have refunds and lose your money if customer will not be satisfied with your product.

Have you tried creating something that is uniquely your own?

One thing all those other "solutions" can't give or be is YOU. It's all about the packaging and personality behind a product.
