How do you take your programs, Madam?
Just wondering if there's any rhyme or reason to program development when serving the internet marketing community. For example, do we tend to not like programs requiring an install? Understandably, if the program does something truly amazing, that can override such an objection but I still wonder if there are some general preferences upon which one can rely.
Is there, for example, a language that is more preferred than others, or are languages just simply chosen based on the needs of the program with some languages more capable of certain tasks?
Personally, I'm looking to have a fairly simple program created with which one can create and store records and export to excel. The record creation, itself, might be a bit elaborate, but otherwise it's pretty straightforward. How does one even know what language to ask for...? This question, for me, is more about desktop applications than websites (sites, I understand)
