I found this really cool software today at http://www.onlineleadfinder.com that will post replies to Craigslist and Backpage ads. It's pretty cool and it's free.

Just one problem though. It doesn't support authenticated emails like Gmail. Does anyone know a workaround to solve this issue?

Hi, I have not tried this out yet, but am going to. If you watch the "how to" video, the author shows it using a gmail account.

If Im not mistaken, I think there is a way to use a gmail address as a pop3 account, I wonder if this will solve your issue?

This is a pretty cool piece of software - very similar to lead evolution, which costs around 4K. It may not have as many features, but seems pretty close.

Yeah, I tried to use with with Gmail set to pop 3. This software is a couple years old so that video was probably made before Google added the security updates. I know it's a security issue since my Earthlink regular email worked fine.

That's too bad. I was going to play with it tonight to see if it work. You're probably right. I did a trial of that Leadevolution and did not keep it, but the one thing I really liked about it was the ability to email from multiple gmail accounts. I wonder if there is another program out there that can do this?

One (somewhat) workaround I suppose could be to set up a cheap hosting account with a couple of cheap domains that offer unlimited emails. You could use just that host/email address(es) for sending emails from this software. If they get shut down, it is cheap to move on to another... Not great, but I suppose could work.

I like the idea of a workaround to use multiple gmail addresses though.

Is the author of the software offering any support since it was free? Maybe he could answert this?

I thought of that already. I'm on HostGator and they use the authentication on their email accounts, so same issue.

They do offer support at $20 a question but I haven't used it.

I tried too and could only get my own domains to work, not gmail.

Not sure if I'll get a response, but I sent an email to the author of the software through another source. The faq/support link on his site was broken so I couldnt tell if he addressed this issue aleady. I'll post if I find any more.

I've been playing with the software and it has some very good potential uses.

Tony, works pretty good at extracting ads from CL and BP and you can set it to automatically email those leads. The email interface is where it is a little lacking. But, its free, so give it a try and play around with it.

I dont think so, it allows you to reply to ads.

Seems like the focus of this free software is on real estate.
While Lead Evolution doesn't have this limitation?

Rayt. not exactly - have you tried it?

You can search for anything with it just like LE (just not as many bells and whistles as LE). The guy who developed this is in RE and that is what he used it for, but you can search for anything. For example, I just searched and got a bunch of results for people selling bicycles in Amarillo TX (not sure why I searched that, just playing around). Seems to work pretty well, within the limitation of its email interface.

Does anyone know if on line lead finder has the same capabilities as lead evolution to garner e mail addresses from prospects seeking home based businesses?

I currently started a home based business (short on capital going broke) and am trying to find alternative to wasting money on lead generation from ( tv/radio ads, cold calling,) and standard MLM methods.

Any info would be greatly appreiciated.
Stumbled on this site today and hope to get some help.
      Thanks!

      Steven

Steven, I am familiar with the product - it does not matter what niche you are looking for. It pulls ads from sites like craigslist - you can search for anything you want. By the way, its free, so just try it.
