Pop-Unders: Fresh and Hot? ... or Not?

A couple years ago pop-under marketing pages were the rage. But I don't see them that much anymore, in fact I don't remember the last time I saw one.

I mostly see pop-overs (I'm making myself hungry) and slide in type ads and opt-in forms. Anyone still using pop-under ads or opt-ins?

No. Just as annoying is the.... "are you sure you want to leave" window!
That may work, generally, but for me I start feeling like a caged animal!

Slide-Ins seem to be more effective. IMHO.

I've always seen that depress conversion in most markets when really tested. Sure it may sell a few units for those that would click away, but it ignores the fact that some would have returned to make a purchase had they not been so turned off. You usually run them with a lower price too which further muddies the water. I always sty clear, it destroys credibility, at least in the markets I've worked in.
