AM I doing this wrong

I have someone who generates unique content articles for me, about 20 a week.

The soul purpose of these articles is backlinks from directories. I submit to ezine, go articles, article engie and ezine mark.

Would it help to do mass submission or do I just need to continue while i develop other link strategies?

Would I be better off having this virtual assistant do blog commenting?

Thank you for any input.

If you can have them split up their time - half on writing, half on blog commenting - you might find a nice balance.

If you do have them comment on blogs, be careful to specify that they only comment on blogs that don't use the no-follow attribute so you get your link juice. Good luck!

    Hi Dracobear;

I personally don't mind blog commenting, but I look for PR 3,4,5 and higher as they are much more powerful for ranking than some blogs that have 0 rank. Not all backlinks are equal!

You'll get some more great advice from warriors.

    Cheers,
    Terri

I hired a guy on odesk who worked around 20 hours a week doing commenting a blog posts. My yahoo backlinks went up to like 700, however google stayed at 0. Reason being most of the blogs and directories were either no-follow or not good enough for google to index. In the end i got about 4 backlinks from google from ezinearticles and some other article sites. Therefore if you hire some cheap labour to get backlinks - don't bother with too many blog comments

well i was thinking of finding the blogs for the virtual assistant to post on myself, then feed it to her via an rss so she stays confined into commenting where I tell her

Look for blogs that cover subjects/niches that are related to yours. Get to know them by following their feed then start making useful, relevant comments. Try connecting with other bloggers through their comments. Forget about the nofollow links.

Mass article submission doesn't give advantages for SEO except search engines detect you as backlink spammer.

    Here's what should you do?

    1. At the beginning, join with 50 - 60 high PR article directories.
    2. First day, write 5 articles, and submit them to first 5 directories.
    3. second day, write 5 articles, and submit them to next 5 directories.

Continue this procedure, you'll get amazing results.......

(YES, if you'll hire a freelancer, you'll be able complete this whole process within few hours. But, that's not an appropriate banklinks building method for SEO)

Blog commenting also very important for SEO. First day, Find 10 (5-6 blogs will accept your comments) high PR do follow blogs, read complete posts carefully and write useful comments except "thanks very much for info" type comments.

I agree with this, I feel like SEO should be done in a natural way instead of blasting yourself all over the internet.

  • Hi Dracoboar,

I recommend guest authoring on contextually relevant, top ranking blogs and websites heavily trafficked by your target audience, over blog commenting and article directory backlinking. For guest authoring on blogs: You can sign up for an account at MyBlogGuest.Com or talk to other blog owners regarding possible guest blogging arrangements. For content authoring on article directories: I suggest focusing on having other webmasters pick up your submitted articles and publishing them on their own contextually relevant websites for their target audience, most likely with similar needs and problems as your target viewers...

I for one isn't someone whose business is dependent on the whims of a multi billion dollar corporation and their constantly changed, frequently improved secret algorithm...

    Draco bar,

If you're looking for articles for backlinks. Your best bet is to get 1 unique article and spin it or get it spun by someone, then upload those articles the directories you mentioned.

I recommend spinning manually with either best spinner or spinner chief free version - get around 70% unique.

You'll get approved for article directories. I know because thats what I do.

My friend does article marketing and he starts out slow with only a few articles per day for about three months. He then steps it up a notch every week there after.

After about six to nine months, he puts the pedal to the metal.

He spins three articles all written about the same. He then uses an article submission site to do everything automatically.

This works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

The trick here is to make sure you have a little history under your site. There is a trust factor you will need to work through with the search engines.

The other trick is to diversify your back links for the first three months. In other words, follow some of the advice above and get your links on many different platforms.

You can find high ranking sites with SEO Quake tool bar. Download and load it up on your browser to see the PR of every site you search for. You will love this tool.

I've been building back links on my blog and will start article marketing soon.

Keep in mind ... slowly for a while so you don't get sand boxed.

Commentkahuna is a great free resource for finding places for hi pr blog comments. Then your va can handle that part him/herself. I don't get to bogged down with follow/no follow. It hasn't made a bit of difference in my SEO.
