Entrepreneurs As Revolutionaries

"Entrepreneurs and revolutionaries are really the same kinds of people born into different circumstances. Both see the status quo in need of change, and both are willing to take the risks, and reap the rewards of changing it." -Paul Zane Pilzer

OK, so the rates of unemployment and underemployment are high now and the economy is expected to grow slowly. Could it be a blessing in disguise? Let's see.

A revolution is a change of paradigm. An example is the Copernican revolution hypothesizing that the earth rotated daily on its axis and the planets revolved in orbits around the sun.

Discussions about the economy in the media take place within the context of the employment model. Right now, it is an environment characterized by generalized fear of being "downsized". And there are endless stories of people who put up with abuse and corruption, setting aside good judgment and conscience because they are afraid of losing their jobs.

In contrast to that, the entrepreneurial model provides the freedom and opportunity for people, with the desire, to design their own businesses around their own unique life purpose. This inner-directed way of being allows access to unlimited creativity, drive and energy. It allows people to pursue their dreams and add value to the lives of others. In return, given that money is an exchange of value, they create wealth for themselves.
