Need advise of building a membership site...

I've currently got a wordpress website that we are going to start signing up members. The membership will give access to instructional videos that is for a special niche.

I've never done a membership website and am considers using a third-party plugin or going to another platform all together.

Feedback??

    Hi John!

I had been advised by senior Warriors to use the FREE s2member plugin for WP.

If you wish you could always use Joomla.

aMember seems to be the most popular and feature rich solution. Wishlist is another good one that is a little cheaper for a 1 site license and like aMember will work with clickbank, paypal, aweber, and wordpress.

WordPress works perfect for membership sites. If you feel comfortable with WordPress, stick to it, and get a premium plugin.

I personally prefer DAP (Digital Access Pass). It's worth every penny. It allows multiple membership levels, the ability to drip content, easy member management, trial memberships, and much more.

I've also used WishList. It's pretty good too. I'm just much more comfortable with DAP.

DAP has awesome documentation too. As long as you follow the directions in the documentation, and you are comfortable with WordPress, DAP will do just about everything you probably want your membership to do.

If you want a free solution, I agree with indihow about s2member. I've used it before, it's easy to use, and does the job pretty well. It integrates with PayPal pretty easily, but your members will need to have a PayPal account for them to be able to purchase access. Not everyone likes or uses PayPal. The pro (paid) version gives you much more flexibility with the checkout/shopping cart. With that being said, S2Member will still get the job done. For a free plugin, you can't beat it!
