Visitors clicking but not buying

Have hired a native English writer to write high quality converting content on my site. There are more visitors clicking on my affiliate links but not buying.

Over the past 1.5 months, 213 clicks but not a single sale. All my affiliate links are cloaked and my conversion rates used to be 1/37 on average.

My site has nothing wrong, in fact it's getting more visitors to click the affiliate links each day. There are no changes in the merchant site. What has went wrong?

    Two possibilities...

    1. 213 clicks isn't a large enough sample to worry about.
If you get to 1000 and still have no sales, you have a problem.

    2. Your English speaking writer's high quality converting content
    apparently isn't converting.

Agree with first possibility, crossing my fingers and see how much sales in 1,000 clicks. Before this, there is 1 sale for every 37 clicks on average.

Quite confused about the second possibility. If the content isn't converting, would more visitors click on the affiliate links?

Perhaps I misunderstood what you wrote. If you are getting
more click-throughs with the new copy that probably isn't the
problem... unless the copy is promising or inferring something
they aren't finding when they click the link. If you over-hype
the copy in order to "sell" the click the result can be fewer sales.

          Thanks Tsnyder,

I agree that the new sales copy is tad hype with the end users' testimonials, but potential customers can find the same thing when they click on the links.

That's a reason for them not to find it on your site, Wklee.

In my opinion, the single commonest mistake affiliate marketers make, with their websites, is that they try to sell instead of to pre-sell.

            It doesn't work.

I'm not saying this is what's happened here (as mentioned above, nobody can surmise anything at all without seeing your site and knowing about the traffic generation) but your comments make me suspect that possibility.

    1. Where is the traffic coming from?

    2. What are you using to cloak your links?

      1. Traffic coming from Google.

      2. Pretty Link, the plugin was updated last week.

Sending an email to the affiliate merchant to check whether something is happening on their side.

What kind of traffic is my question to you. For example, freebie traffic is typically poor conversion. I am getting a slug of traffic to my web pages. OK so DOW is crashing now. These people are what I call curious viewers. However, they are not buying from me.

That requires a different kind of traffic mon. Please learn that not all traffic is the same.

It sounds as if there may possibly be a mismatch between what the traffic's looking for/expecting and what's apparently offered by the vendors' sales pages when they click the links, but nobody can really hope to comment productively or accurately without seeing the site and knowing exactly how you're generating the traffic.

To be honest, 213 clicks is really not much in terms of traffic generation. Whenever I do emailing campaigns we normally generate anywhere from 3,000 - 4,000 clicks per campaign.

However, it really depends on what you are doing to generate the traffic that you are doing.

I always say to everyone that is starting out that SEO is the foundation of any brand new website that you are starting out with.

However, there are other ways to generate instant traffic to your websites much quicker and can prove to be a very good source of traffic if you are constantly using these sources.

Try utilizing other email marketing systems such as safelists, mailers, viral list builders, etc. Word of advice though, only use the ones that are credit based as these give an incentive for opening your emails.

No incentive = very poor results on your email campaigns.

For starters, you can use our system below, which will generate quite a bit of traffic to your programs if you actively use it the way it is meant to be used.

Word of caution though, as getting involved with these systems may steer you away from your originally goal because you will be receiving a lot of emails with many different offers and opportunities.

It's pretty easy to get side tracked or even suffer from information overload when starting out with these types of services.

Just make sure that you setup filters for the sites that you plan to work and that way it won't clog up your mail box.

Upgrade on the ones that produce results for you whenever you are able to.
