Before you hire someone from the Philippines, or any outsourced writers at all, really, I very highly recommend this fundamental WSO on the subject from Sean Mize, the #1 author on Ezinearticles (which is the #1 article directory):

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...agreement.html

It is the system I personally use and it is packed with extremely useful information for outsource newbies. And at the current price its a steal.

    To answer your questions directly,
I pay about $2 to $4 per article when outsourced to another country, per 400 words.
(I pay $5 to $25 to American writers)

As for PLR and spun content, well I'll let the WSO explain that one to you.

I agree with Mike's price range.

I absolutely do not accept re-written PLR
I absolutely do not accept spun content

      and you shouldn't either!
Sometimes it's not about 'accepting', sometimes it's the job I want a writer to do. I might take some PLR I bought and ask a writer to re-phrase it. It gives me unique content much faster than making them write new articles from scratch.

To outsource to another country, you can get content for $2-$3. Whether it will be unique or high quality is questionable. It's like the old saying goes "you get what you pay for."

Note that I am not saying writers from the Philippines are not capable of providing good content, but usually a low rate means low quality.

In the Philippines, the average person only makes $3/day. One VA I was using was only $2/hr and she was impeccable! You can try advertising in Craigslist to see if you can find someone. I've seen people get anywhere from $1-3 per article approx 400 words.
