Way to block a user from PMing you?

I went through the FAQ and couldn't find an answer to this question:

How do I block a user from sending me a PM?

Thank you.

Once this gets answered I don't mind at all if thread gets deleted.

I see an ignore option under Settings & Options but I don't know if this is also tied to PM'ing.

The Ignore option is the only thing I can see, too. Also not sure whether that applies to PMs, although it would make sense if it did.

If someone is harassing or spamming you through PMs, report them using the little red triangle with the "!" inside it, at the upper right corner of the message box. Then the moderators will deal with it.

It does in a sense ... you still see that that the person sent you a p.m., and it still occupies a space in your in-box until you delete it, but you can't read the message itself (just as you can't see their posts in a thread, but can see that they've been made, as I remember).

The only people I've ever had on my "ignore" list have been banned, now <sigh of relief>.

I always figured everyone ignores me.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Cynthea, if someone is spamming you or sending you inappropriate pms, you might want to let a moderator know as well. If it's just a personal issue between you and the other person, the "ignore" button is probably the best route to go. I hope you get it sorted out.

    Cynthea,

There's an "ignore" facility in your UserCP - settings and options. That would probably stop PMs.

If not, you should just report any misuse of the PM system.
