What is the difference between AWeber Success Page url and Web Form Thank You Page

I am struggling with the set up of the eBook giveaway via AWeber.

I am not using a website, rather a web page for the free gifts. So, I have set up the Squeeze Page and Opt in ok. The Confirmation message is set up as a custom setting.

But, the subscriber just gets sent straight to my web page (a Thank you html page via Kompozer and uploaded to host via Filezilla) and not to the confirmation message ! and therfore not registering in my AWeber list.

Do I use the Thank You html url in the success page on the opt in settings or the url on the web form settings in AWeber ?

    You either need to put a message on your ebook download page telling them about the confirmation email, or you need to use the default Aweber thank you page.

    I suggest you do the later, because if they get your ebook they probably won't subscribe to your list.

      Don't quite understand

      My process currently...how I thought it should work

      1.Squeeze Page opt in
      2.AWeber Confirmation message
      3.AFTER they confirm, they are sent to my Thank You page
      4.Then they click on a grab this now link
      5.Sent to download page to click on link and then the pdf file is downloaded

      1,3,4 and 5 work but 2 doesn't ?

        1. Squeeze Page optin
        2. Goes to a thank you for signing up and don't forget to confirm page
        2. Aweber confrmation message goes to their mailbox
        3. Click confirmation link
        4. Another email comes with the link to the download page or the link where you uploaded their ebook in a zip file.


        You need an optin page, a thank you for signing up page, and a page where your download link is placed. And you need your download file uploaded to the internet.

        Alternatively you can use Aweber's default thank you for signing up page and include the download link in the first follow up message.

        But right now you can't do those things because Aweber is in maintenance mode for a while yet. Until midnight EDT I think.

          When you configured the confirmation page did you do the personalised message as well then click on the save button then do a test to see if it works

            What is the "personalised message" ? Is this the one where I use a custom confirmation message (instead of default) with hello listname, as the starter.

            The terminology used by different people throws me at times.

            I did save this and then found while testing that it didn't work. That is, I filled in the opt in form on the Squeeze page to see it it all worked.

            Sorry, I am a newbie and this may appear easy to some of you, but until I get this right I am going nowhere.

    you can set it to take subscribers to a download link immediately following opt-in. You may have to get a programmer to assist you if you're not comfortable doing this yourself. elance and odesk have such contractors if you need them. a simple task like this can be done for $20.

    You need to be sure that you understand the difference between the thank you page, which they are taken to after opting in, and the confirmation success page, which they reach after clicking the confirmation link in their email.
