Getting Traffic, But NOT Making The Sales You Were Hoping For? Here Is Why!?

How many times have we all heard this, here on the forum. I have even see 2 abusive comments saying that IM is a joke and a scam, and getting traffic is B.S.. lol.

Well traffic is the lifeblood of the internet. We need it to survive. We need it to make sales. But over the years I have attracted millions of visitors to my sites and know how to do it properly and make sales because you have to have the end in mind.

Here are the 3 reasons that you are capping your success and not make as many sales as you should be.

1) Know Your Target Audience

If you want to make more money, you have to know what your target audience wants and needs are. Take more time to research and find out where they are hanging out, what materials they are reading, and what their biggest fears are?

Find out all you can about them, if you can use core influence and become your prospect and ask yourself who you are, and what your daily thoughts are. How old are they? What are the most problems they are having? Their most inner desires? and how do they want to receive (what format) the info they are after?

2) DONT Sell!!, Start Solving Problems.

YES! it aint rocket science really! So many people push themselves to make the almighty dollar but they are forgetting one thing, they are dealing with real humans!!! lol YES! The one thing I have found over the years is that customers do not like to be sold too!

The secret here is your customers are frustrated. What they really want is someone to help them. To get rid of their problems with a solution that is going to work for them.

Once you can infact step up to the plate and show that your product / service can in fact solve their problems they are having, the sales wont trickle in, they will come flooding in. Customers want results in advance. Once in a sales page, I showed live footage of my info helping customers, and REAL proof from a real customer and not an actor GUESS WHAT? .... my sales TRIPLED within the next fortnight!!!

3) Appeal To Peoples Emotions

We are all emotional beings right? Well most of us are! lol.... so play on that.

Scientific evidence suggests that most buying decisions are based on your emotional state. Just realise that your customers needs are very LOGICAL, but the actual buying decision is NOT!

Think about this right now! When you bought your last car, did you go for the most logical choice? no! Did you pick the ugliest run down car in the lot? NO! or even the best gas milage? Unlikely!

The reason you took your choice and bought was because you found the car that most suited your needs and was in your price range. On pure emotion!

You do not have to get all mushy in your copy! You just have to do your job and tug on these emotional strings that will draw more customers and sales. Find the commonalities with your customers and use this when speaking to them.

When you are researching back in step 1 & 2 above, and you find these problems, use them to add emotion to your copy.

The most valuable thing I have ever done for my business is to learn understand how these processes work. When you start to understand this, and the entire process. And also learn how to write emotional sales orientated Copy for your customers, your traffic will florish and so will the cheque book balance.

Peace, and happy online profits to you

Want to know my trick to traffic...

    Hire a VA...

But seriously, the way I get the most out of my traffic is by sending it ALL to a squeeze page or sales pages/blog posts that have opt-in boxes...

When sending straight to a squeeze page I can easily convert 40% (usually much higher) of the traffic into prospects...

Once your list is big enough you have all the traffic you want...

So, try capturing the email address and building a list and a relationship with the visitor, sales will improve!

    Great Post Celente!

You know, some things never change, they just grow up. Marketing and sales strategies have remained a constant for decades, all that changes is the delivery.

Sex sells, emotion sells, fulfilling a need sells. These are basics.

I think you have a nice post that reminds us of that at a time when many need reminding, or perhaps teaching.

I have learned in the 20+ years I have been involved in advertising, sales, and marketing, the one thing you can do to tip the scales in your favor is to 'become your customer'. By that I mean you have to step back, but yourself in their place, and see what they see. You need to know who that customer is and you have to be able to relate.

I was in a webinar recently with a 'guru' and he was saying that he flopped big time promoting weight loss products because he has been and probably always will be skinny. He just could not relate to what we 'chubby' people feel, think, strive for. I thought it was a really good example.

The other thing I would say is find your passion. It will come through and your customers will buy into that passion. Hey, I sell genealogy stuff, (among others) LOL. It works.
