Computer Crash! Ouch............

My computer crashed and I lost most of my files. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the name of a free web design software and also a free software to upload my files on my webpage (I used to used Cute FTP but I know I had to pay for it and I don't have the cash to pay for it right now)

Any help would be appreciated.

    Try FileZilla for ftp.

    I do my web design in text/html so I probably can't help there - though I'm sure someone else can.

    One thing I've always done with much success is to take the hard drive out of the computer that has apparently crashed and plugged it into an external hard drive case.
    Usually, the new computer can read the files because it can access the external HD, sometimes and/or lots of times files and programs can be reinstalled from the external hard drive.

    I hasten to add though, this was with 3.1, 98, and XP not had to try it yet with the viper VISTA! (but then most of the programs won't run on Vista anyway
